FIWC AUSTRALIAN FINALS ARE ON TONIGHT!

The FIWC Australian Final is running tonight at Sydney's Maritime Museum, and 8 of the best FIFA 12 players from around the country will be sliding, tackling and passing for their chance to represent Australia and take on the world's best players.

A few weeks ago thousands of Aussies took part in our National Qualifiers, held at EB Games stores around the country, joining 1 million others globally.

There were a few upset victories on the night with FIFA heavyweights Mark 'Skip1' Azzi, who represented Australia at the FIWC Finals in Los Angeles last year, going down 2-0 in the final, and Stephen Coorey, the 2010 finalist, bowing out gracefully in the first round.

Eight players held out in the end, and will be vying for the number one spot tonight, in front of a huge audience of gamers, sponsors, celebrities and journalists. Good luck to our finalists:

  • Sydney (Top Ryde): Mikko Quilala, 27 years; Green Valley, NSW
  • Sydney (Miranda): Adam Kharman, 17 years; Bankstown, NSW
  • Melbourne: Kieran Murray, 21 years; Beaumaris, VIC
  • Adelaide: Charles Woodham, 20 years; Wattle Park, SA
  • Perth: Irshad Zamir, 21 years; Alexandra Heights, WA
  • Gold Coast: Todd Sekli, 17 years; Robina, QLD
  • Newcastle: Samuel Lage Liberato, 23 years; Brazil
  • Rockhampton: Matthew Ouston, 18 years; Cooee Bay, Yeppoon, QLD

The winner of the Final will represent Australia at the international grand final event later this year. They will then pit their skills against international players for a chance to win US$20,000 and win the FIWC Trophy at the FIFA Players Annual Gala.
