Crysis 2 will be one of the first major video games on multiple platforms to take full advantage of true stereoscopic 3D on. As Crytek CEO and President Cevat Yerli, explains, “at Crytek, we always strive to raise the technology bar. As the 3D revolution sweeps movies and television, we are excited to bring Crysis 2 to 3D [...] the 3D experience represents a quantum leap in interactive entertainment. With all of the same story and action seen in the 2D version of the game, the 3D version adds another dimension of intensity and immersion to the action."

yes you can buy a 3d monitor for about 250-350 on newegg! look for viewsonic or samsung, but you will need glasses and im pretty sure only the nvidia ones work, therefore you will need a pc, so , not sure but something to look into, monitor and glasses is way cheaper than a big 47" 3d tv, might as well go out and buy a pc with crysis 2 and a 3d monior all for a lower price, with better results. A 600 dollar pc will run crysis 2 beautifly, with that said most everone has a pc, so just buy a 250 dollar graphics card for it and your good to go. Sorry for the giant reply, I am just so anxious waiting for this game I cant even stand it. I know Everyone will be shocked at how I didnt bag on you for playiing it on xbox, but hey its still going to rock, just dont try the pc version until you are done with yours or you wont want to go back:) GAMER IS A GAMER, NO MATTER WHAT DEVICE. If you got allready you 3D equipment, you should be sure, that you get it 4 free! I think it will run on 3D Vison (Crytek allways cooperated with Nvidia).

Thats True... But, wouldn't you need a special 3D Graphic Card, to be able to watch 3D? Since, you would need the Active Shutter Glasses, and only a 3D Computer/Graphics card is able to do it. Now, I can see the 3D Effects, and looks Amazing! Although, you will see Ghosting... I hope there is someway, this can be eliminated. It does the same ghosting effect in Black Op, but Crysis 2 is about 10 times better in 3D Detail! That for sure! I figured, since Black Ops was the first 3D Shooter of its kind, I understood that 3D is a totally new technology, and that its not perfect... Now, Crysis 2 has had some time to polish up toughs 3D Effects. Which they did, but there are still flaws, and it could even be my TV... Who knows? If anyone has any tips, again I would love to hear them. Peace, BeersYourFriend

for PC you need a 3d moniter and a 3d kit, and you need a graphics card which supports 3d graphics. most likely from nvidia. for console you need a 3d tv and glasses.

As long as you have a NVIDIA Graphics card that supports 3D Vision/Discover Then you will be able to play Crysis 2 in Red/Cyan on normal 60Hz Monitors (You will still require Red/Cyan Glasses). If you have a 120Hz Monitor and the NVIDIA 3D Vision Equipment then You will be able to play Crysis 2 in NVIDIA 3D Vision which doesn't hurt your eyes and does not affect the games color. But don't forget that the Performance of the game will take a serious hit if you are using 3D Mode.

Actually they've said before that the 3D effect only causes a performance hit of about 3%.

You won't believe it until you see it. 3D in videogames is absolutely immersive. I tried the game in 2d and it was still beautiful, but to experience it in 3D is stunning. It beats 3d movies into the ground, though they are still entertaining. I think the biggest difference is the ability to look around and control the actions of the character. Bear in mind this might not be so true of 3rd persons perspective games, but 1st person perspective is where it's at for 3d. Crytek is amazing, more pls!

I do not want to sound like any of the people who are up in arms over no dx11 or the obvious other SP bugs in Crysis 2. Bugs happen, and dx11 support was never officially confirmed by Crytek, and frankly it's one of the best looking and best running games I have ever seen whether it is dx9 or dx11. My major problem is that every post, press release, or interview ever conducted about this games promised TRUE stereoscopic 3D. The 3D available at launch is a virtual 3D mode, which is not even close in quality compared to any number of other games running under 3d vision, tridef, or iz3D. So a $60 premium price tag with a media blitz to brag about the 3D quality which included a claim that James Cameron himself has demoed the games 3D and given it his stamp of approval. If that is true, then they showed Cameron a build running Trus Stereoscopic 3D and not the 3D that the game has shipped with. In fact, I would bet Cameron himself all of the unobtainium on Pandora I can demo at least 100 games with better 3D than Crysis 2's current offering. Ironically, the best 3D game to date is the ONLY game which is actually running in native true 3D , AVATAR the game, and it already has his name in the title. So basically, feature promised that was not delivered, nor has there been an apology or indication of when a fix may arrive. So false advetising= I feel ripped off.

Not sure what you were using but mine looks awesome! I am playing on a PC with the GeForce GTX580 graphics card and using the ASUS VG236H 23" monitor which comes with the Nvidia 3d kit that includes the active glasses. The effect is great, my only problem is I can't get my Logitech rumblepad 2 to work with it. However, I see some other blogs that may have the solution for this problem.

will it be Nvidia 3D Vision Ready? or just compatible with Nvidia 3D Vision? I hopw the first one cuz it will run soo well and no eye strain. I hope it is not Cyan/Red cuz that will loose the beauty of the game.
