FIGHT NIGHT CHAMPION Feedback Session Oct 28-29
Survive the Brutal Road to Redemption
In Stores Now
Wepeeler here! I’ve been heavily invested in the Sports gaming community since I began creating gaming videos on youtube (http://youtube.com/wepeeler). After some decent success, EA asked me to moderate on both their Fight Night and FIFA forums, and I’ve been there ever since. Can’t wait to share what Fight Night Champion has in store for you all!
After finally getting a chance to look back over the blur that’s been the last few days, I realize how important these events are to you, the community. Simply put, we were invited for a reason: to share the goodies we get to see. And boy did we see the goodies. And I’m NOT just talking about the ladies…
It’s hard to talk about a game you just played and not go into details. I want to spill the beans more than you guys want to hear about the beans. Trust me. But, unfortunately I can’t just spit out everything we saw all in one post. Not only is it too much information for one blog, but building anticipation is part of the overall experience. Who wants to see everything about a movie all in one trailer? Not me.
So bear with me here. I can’t talk specifics, but overall, Champion is shaping up nicely. I wrote a hyped up blog after last year’s community event and some of you may have thought I was too positive. In all reality, I go into these events trying my best to pick apart what I see. I’m not here to sell the game. That’s EA’s job. My job is to represent the community and give you all my honest feedback. It may sound cliché, but it’s the truth. What do I have to gain by sugar-coating what I see? An angry community? No thank you.
I just want the community to know that the dev team is working for you. Who else would they be making the game for? The EA forums are an outlet for you to express your thoughts, likes and dislikes, and nearly all of you have an impression of what the Champion should be. We see it every day. What I can tell you from this event is that the dev team has heard your cries. We came into this event with your Wish List printed, primed and sealed for Brizzo and Mahar, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised to not have to deliver it. They were already all over it. I’m not saying every little detail on the list has been covered, but I was like, “DAMN! That’s in there too?!” Promising stuff…
The best part of playing Fight Night Champion (besides playing FNC) was immediately sitting down with the devs and having Q & A sessions. This happened over the course of four gameplay sessions on day 1 and two or three gameplay sessions on day 2. Having the chance to play and provide immediate feedback was excellent. Brizzo and Mahar were also in the test room while we played, so if we saw something that concerned us, good or bad, we had it addressed immediately. And believe me when I say that no stone was left unturned.
In the very near future, we will be able to start sharing details. I can’t wait to get into the details, and I know you guys are bubbling with anticipation. So stay tuned and you’ll be very happy very shortly…
That being said, I’m also disappointed. Now I have to go home and play FNR4, instead of Champion.
