Effort, such as sliding to block crosses and overhead kick clearances, will give the defenders more tools in order to prevent goal scoring opportunities. Balanced by less forgiving standing tackles, defending is now a more tactical skill in FIFA 10.

Refined Goalkeeping Intelligence
Various improvements mean that goalkeepers now have a better perception of where to intercept loose balls and how urgently to do so, resulting in a more responsive and powerful rushing system. New animation warping technology provides game-realistic goalkeeper positioning and momentum, allowing for more variety in scoring. Learning to play professional football the correct way is even easier now with insights from your manager. Scout Reports provide pre-match advice to help you plan your attack against every opponent. Learn their Team Style, key players to watch out for and receive tactical advice.

Improved goalkeepers
Better goalkeeper intelligence helps keepers make more authentic decisions, with improved variation in shot stopping and deflections. They also have better reflexes with the ability to make that all important last ditch save. Quicker off the line in 1 on 1 situations, keepers now take up better positions and behave in line with their overall team styles.

Realistic Manager Mode
An overhauled AI Engine ensures league tables are more realistic and considers the quality of the team to ensure more realistic league tables and cup competitions.

Online refinements
We've done a lot of work to refine the FIFA 10 online experience. Disconnect issues and slow online frame rates have been addressed and fixed, and new features such as Friends Lists and Chat Notification have been added to enhance online gameplay.

FIFA 10 has a bigger portfolio of teams - including the Russian League - to give you a richer, more authentic experience.

Visual Improvements
Updated player portraits, improved pitch details as well as 30 new star head models headline the visual improvement in FIFA10. Coupled with updated front end menus which align with FIFA10's menus on the Wii^TM creating a distinctively unique Nintendo experience.

Coach Feedback System
The Coach Feedback system gives information and advice throughout the game to help you really become an expert in the game. Your coach will give you a pre-match Scouting Report to evaluate your opponents' strengths and weaknesses so you can plan accordingly. "Strike it System" set pieces
The new set piece system will utilize the Wii Remote^TM creating tense head to head battles on penalties, free-kicks and corners. Each player must time the shaking of their Wii Remote^TM perfectly in order to either score or defend free-kicks, penalties and corners adding to the excitement.
