Battlefield 3 is one of the most eagerly-awaited games this year. If you couldn’t make it to the event, here is a behind the scenes look at the Battlefield 3 stand at this year’s Gamescom.

Savvy gamers will already know just how revolutionary this shooter is set to be. With such anticipation, the line-up sometimes stretched to an awesome 400 person deep, as hardcore FPS fans wait eagerly in line to get their first glimpse at the action:

The Battlefield 3 queue

Once through, you’ll be able to rest your weary legs by pulling up a pew in our exclusive Battlefield 3 theater. FPS fams will be treated to our highly acclaimed 12 minute Fault Line gameplay video. Taken from the POV of a squad searching for a missing patrol, you’ll see the Frostbite 2 engine in full effect, with photorealistic visuals and awesome dynamic lighting. See the team get ambushed, take out a sniper by demolishing a hotel, and just generally lay waste to everything in their path.

The exclusive Battlefield 3 Theater

With Fault Line over, the next treat in store is some in-game footage from the newly revealed ‘Caspian Border’ Conquest Map. Taking place in a fictional border area based on real-life locations, Caspian Border is a traditional ‘domination’ style map set high up in the mountains. The video serves as a prelude to the main event; an actual 64 player live demo, where avid shooter fans will be amongst the first to test drive this experience. Move amongst the fences and guard towers as you strive to hold the 5 map points for as long as possible, by any means necessary. You’ll be able to walk through realistic mountain foliage, mow things down in a tank, or take to the skies in a chopper and rain down merry hell onto unsuspecting grunts.
