Godfather Valentines Day Massacre

St. Valentine's Day wasn't all candy and roses. Seven known members of George 'Bugs' Moran's gang were shot and killed on the North Side of Chicago in what police have dubbed the "St. Valentine's Day Massacre."

According to reports, the Moran mobsters were held captive inside a Lincoln Park Neighborhood garage during the early morning hours by five men loyal to Al 'Scarface' Capone, the notorious kingpin from Chicago's South Side. All seven of Moran's men were lined up against a wall and gunned down with machine guns. It is not known if Moran himself was the intended target.

There are unconfirmed reports that two of the gunmen were disguised as police officers. Sources also confirm that Capone is vacationing in Florida, and it is not known if he is a suspect in the slayings.

The feud between the rival gangs has escalated during the past few months, with both sides struggling to take control of the city's bootlegging business. The St. Valentine's Day Massacre is just the latest in a string of criminal acts of violence between the two gangs, and the bloodiest event to date in 1929.

As an EA.com-only exclusive, the massacre plays out in a gripping sequence in The Godfather The Don's Edition.
