Official GDC 2012 announce trailer for SimCity by EA Maxis. SimCity is an online city building simulation game from Maxis Studios. It is the quintessential city builder franchise that started a genre.

SimCity is back and bigger than ever with a new 3D world to create and control and multi-player to play with your friends for the first time.

      I have been playing sims from maxis for years. I remember going out to bestbuy and dropping $180 for 8mb of ram to play sim park, lol... if maxis is on this then I expect nothing but the best in sim game play.. I cant wait.. :-)

    I sure hope the buildings and cities evolve over time. Loved being able to see how my city would evolve over time. The plopable abilities of SCS left the game feeling stagnant and boring. I hope EA/Maxis gets it right.

    The video had a text at the end saying "images not actual gameplay" , however the real screenshots from other sites still look as good. Many previews out talk about issues we have had with city builders being adressed in this new version. IE curved roads, multi-player cities and more. I think with Maxis at the helm we got a winner and EA finally realizing it takes some actual invesment to see a game that will sell for years and years , Good for EA. Now they should talk to Frontier and make a deal about a roller coaster game for the future :)

    Oh, sense I we can't edit, I should add that I do hope the details are as good as their made up awsome looking trailer is :), I would love to see details like that in our cities, IE announcment happens "New Statue To Be Unvailed At Time Square To Give Thanks To Mayor Happens In One Day" ... Then be able to actually witness this would be epic. From my undestanding we will actually witness true traffic, accidents, craziness within the city and more. I hope this sort of detail runs threwout along with the needed details of simcity backend workings as with previous titles. It does look very promising !

    I used to play the original SimCity for hours and hours, and I'm actually really excited about this. I really hope EA *does* allow the devs to take their time and polish this product to perfection before launch. Battlefield 3 was pushed for the holidays and it was very frustrating...

      EA seems to always push the games to fast. It's a shame they care more about $ than the end user. this is what happen to Warhammer, and of course they broke (Daoc) Dark age of Camelot. Sincerely an end user

    i have been playing the sims since the begining and it has come a log way baby!. wow this is awesome,amazing and all the above. wow the graphics are wonderful and i can't wait for this to come out. good job everyone for this.
