Whether you value robust offline simulations or the thrill of online competitive or co-operative play, EA SPORTS FC™ 27 contains a way to play for every football fan to enjoy. If you don’t know where to begin, or need a refresher of every mode available to you, then you’ve come to the right place:
Learn to Play
Those completely new to the EA SPORTS FC™ franchise, or who need to brush up on basic skills and how to play the game’s various modes, will want to check out this collection of tutorial and practice experiences.
The Training Centre is the essential starting point for new players. Here, you’ll learn the fundamental mechanics of movement, passing, and shooting, ensuring you have the confidence to hit the pitch – all accessible offline, allowing you to learn the game at your own pace.
Training Centre
An essential curriculum for new players, the Training Center is where you can learn the fundamental mechanics of movement, passing, shooting, set pieces and more to ensure you have full confidence to hit the pitch. Within the Training Centre, you can start with Basic Training around those core concepts before moving on to Advanced Drills, take on Set Piece Tutorials such as penalties, free kicks from multiple spots, or corners, learn Position-Specific Guides for all thirds of the pitch and for Goalkeepers, test yourself with AI Challenges that mimic in-game scenarios, or gauge your skills with Performance Feedback, which reads out your accuracy and consistency to improve your game.
Rush Tutorial
Within the Learn to Play Section, the Rush tutorial is ideal for learning how to play the high-intensity, fast-paced small-sided variation of traditional football. Familiarize yourself with several Lessons on the differences between Rush and traditional modes, including offsides, corner kicks, penalty kicks, and Blue Cards.
Skill Games
Turn practice into a challenge and perfect your craft with these training drill mini-games. From the absolute basics to passing, defending, goalkeeping, and practice scenarios, hit the Target Points to earn Bronze, Silver, or Gold, then perfect your skills and aim for the top spot in the online Leadersboards. Skill Games also exist in Manager and Player Career to improve your attributes, so consider this additional practice before it counts.
Practice Arena
Head to the training pitch and practice your skills with complete control of both sides. Drag, drop, add, and remove players to create scenarios in a training environment, which includes options to turn off offsides and fouls as well as start a full Practice Match or Free Kick scenario.
Kick Off - Pick Up and Play

If you just want to play a match, either alone or with a friend through Couch Co-Op, then head to Kick Off.
Perfect for a quick session or what ultimately turns into a “best-of” series, Kick Off features the game’s 800+ clubs and national teams, including male and female squads, and minimal set-up to get you (and your friends) onto the pitch. Kick Off includes custom match types like Rush and House Rules, modes such as Mystery Ball, as well as stat tracking through the use of Kick Off names.
Whether you’re searching for a Competitive or Authentic Gameplay experience, a Best-Of Series or Tournament Final, or the use of “best of” Classic Teams from around the world, there is serious depth within this pick-up-and-play experience.
The Grounds - Your Football Playground

Welcome to the most social way to play FC 27.
Up to 100 players can enjoy this authentic football hub where the streets meet the stadium. From Kickabouts and 1v1s to teaming up with friends in Clubs, The Grounds is where you can connect with renowned football mentors, improve your abilities, and express yourself on and off the pitch.
Central to The Grounds is your Virtual Pro; select an archetype in Attack, Midfield, Defense, or Goalkeeper, then level your Pro up by participating in a variety of games. With dozens of experiences within The Grounds and the option to switch your archetype, there is no shortage of ways to become one of the greatest footballers alive.
Clubs - Co-Operative Online Competition
Clubs, where you play as one player and win as a team, is now part of The Grounds in FC 27. This competitive online mode allows you to play on the pitch with up to 10 Clubmates, creating and growing a Club with the goal of becoming the best in the world. Clubs can participate in Leagues, which features promotion and demotion by earning points through wins and draws, which ultimately leads to a Playoffs for big rewards.
New to FC 27 is the inclusion of Clubs Tournaments, which can vary in rounds, rewards, and match rules, including House Rules modes like King of the Hill, Survival, Long Range, and No Rules!
Stadium Drop In
Inclusive of Stadium Rush, Rush Live Tournaments, and 11v11 Drop In, Stadium Drop In is a quick way to jump into a stadium atmosphere. Expect to face off against players of similar skill level in a traditional matchmaking experience like in previous EA SPORTS FC games.
Small-Sided: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, Rush
Settle the score with a rival or your friends with these futsal-inspired small-sided arenas. These competitive three-minute football matches across 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and Rush variants are played on unique pitches throughout The Grounds, with the option to spectate matches while waiting to get on the pitch.
Similar in settings to Clubs and Stadium experiences, shooting assistance is set to Manual and Passing Assistance is set to Fully Assisted within small-sided matches.
Kickabouts
A mix of football with other sports and party games, Kickabouts are a new way to play with friends.

Career Mode

Live out your football career as a player or manager, developing your career or building and leading a club across multiple seasons..

Manager Career
Are you ready to lead a club on and off the pitch?
Gain complete control of the Club by building your roster through the Youth Academy and revamped Transfer Market, designing Custom Tactics, managing Unexpected Events (including new Press Conferences), accepting offers to manage International teams or another club, and playing matches in league and tournament competitions.
Manager Live
Within Manager Career mode is the option to play Manager Live, which includes unique scenarios created by both EA SPORTS and the FC community.
Take control of what success looks like with all-new Manager Live Creator Challenges. Build, play, and share your own custom scenarios through a standalone web portal, then discover creations throughout the new season in a constantly evolving Manager Live Hub. Compete in community-made and Curated Challenges, share creations through unique Share Codes, and introduce a new level of replayability and community interaction to Manager Career.
Player Career
The journey to becoming the next GOAT starts here. Create a legacy by customising your own Pro and choosing where they begin their ultimate journey to footballing greatness. Prepare for new Rivalries where your performance on the pitch will be compared against whomever the fans think are your greatest adversaries, all while completing Club Objectives and charting your own course towards a legendary career.

vs. AI Experiences
For those beginning their road to crafting their Ultimate Team, ready to build confidence, or want to stack up in a score attack Leaderboard against fellow players, this mode includes several ways to face off against AI-controlled opponents.
These experiences include Squad Battles, where you can choose a difficulty and climb the ranks at your own pace against featured community-created squads, Moments, a beginner-friendly scenario mode, and the new Single Player Live Events, which features custom squads, unique rules, specific squad requirements, and opponents built around that event’s theme.
Online Experiences
When you’re ready to take on the FUT community, there are several competitive experiences awaiting your rise to the top:
Your first stop may be Rivals, which features multiple skill Divisions in a pyramid format. As you win matches, you’ll be promoted to higher Divisions with stiffer competition and better rewards. Play well enough in Rivals to unlock Champions, where you can compete against the best of the best in Ultimate Team. Separate from these experiences are Live Events, which are variations of a traditional football experience with custom rules and restrictions, Rush, where you can choose a Player Item in a co-operative small-sided competition, and Drafts, where you can build a team separate from your main squad and attempt to have a winning streak.
You can also play with a friend in Co-Op across several modes, including in Squad Battles and Rivals, as well as against them in Couch Play or online exhibition matches.

EA SPORTS FC ™ 27 also includes several online and offline modes outside of The Grounds, Player Career, Manager Career, and Ultimate Team:
Seasons - Online and Co-Op
For some, simply winning local Kick Offs is not enough; enter Seasons, a ten-game series where competitors can find their level and win titles.
Similar to Rivals, all competitors start at Division 10; choose any team (Men’s or Women’s, Club or International) and jump right into online play. Earn enough points to be promoted to the next Division or even capture a Title. Additional hardware can won through Cup Matches, which do not have Division restrictions for the underdogs to prove their skills against even the best in the community.
Seasons can be played either solo or co-operatively with a friend (as team work does make the dream work). In Co-Op Seasons, the same pyramid format and game structure applies, except you and a friend will go up against fellow co-op squads looking to rise through the ranks.
Tournaments
Experience the magic of the cup in this single-player customized competition.
Tournaments include experiences inspired by the top levels of men’s and women’s international competitions, as well as continental and domestic cups or your own Custom Tournament with the option of League, Knockout, or Group & Knockout settings. Select any number of teams you wish to control, then play it out to see who wins it all.
Online Friendlies
Take on your friends for ultimate bragging rights. These one-off matches are just like Kick-Off matches, except are done online against whomever you choose to invite.
