Battlefield 6 and REDSEC Season 1 - California Resistance Mid-Season Roadmap
18. November 2025

The secrets of Fort Lyndon begin to unravel. Several highly-armed SCIFs containing classified information are traced back to a militant SoCal pepper group known as “The 323.” Their supplier is Ironshore Logistics, a mysterious entity with possible connections to Pax Armata. One elite squad is dispatched to follow the trail and find some answers.
Battlefield 6 and REDSEC Season 1 continues with California Resistance, which deployed on November 18 at 4 a.m. PT (12 p.m. UTC)
This required update for both the free-to-play† experience REDSEC and for all Battlefield 6 owners includes two new free functional weapons to earn for your Loadouts. Battlefield 6 owners receive a new map and new mode among other features, while new content will arrive for all in REDSEC: Gauntlet will get a new mission, Fort Lyndon will have SCIFs (Prepper Stashes) to crack open in Battle Royale, and a Free Trial** experience of Battlefield 6 with select maps and modes will come later in November across all platforms.
The California Resistance update (Patch 1.1.2.0) includes fixes around soldier responsiveness, bloom and aim assist, animation fidelity and overall stability, in addition to all the new content detailed in this announcement. This follows the November 11 quality of life update (Patch 1.1.1.5), which included fixes to major exploits involving Gadgets, refinements to Battle Royale match flow, vehicle countermeasure reliability, weapon accuracy, and overall gameplay stability, as well as other smaller updates that remedied concerns such as challenge criteria for various assignments that unlocked functional content.
More technical information about these patches can be found in the “Game Updates” section of our website here. We also encourage you to join us on the Battlefield official Discord server for additional Community Updates, as well as to find your squad for everything the California Resistance update has to offer:

California Resistance Limited Event for Battlefield 6 AND Free-to-Play REDSEC

Available for the duration of the California Resistance phase until the start of Winter Offensive on December 9, the California Resistance Limited Event spotlights the new content included in the California Resistance update. You can access this Limited Event in its own dedicated section in the “Play” menu; look on the left-hand navigation list to find it among your usual sections for “Multiplayer,” the free-to-play “REDSEC” experience and more.
In the California Resistance section are quick access links to its main features, including the following:
California Resistance Bonus Path - November 18 to December 9

Unlock new free functional content and premium customization rewards, including Weapon Packages, by advancing through the tiers of the California Resistance Bonus Path. Of note is a free SMG Weapon package and the new free functional DB-12 Shotgun.
Premium Tier Rewards require purchase of the Season 1 Battle Pass.
This Bonus Path is as follows:
| Tier | Bonus Path Points Required | Free / Premium Tier (Battle Pass Required) | Item Name - Item Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 10 | Free | “Liberty Directive” - Player Card Background |
| 2 | 20 | Premium | “Born Free” - Soldier Patch |
| 3 | 30 | Free | “Bell Blaster” Weapon Package - PW7A2 (SMG) |
| 4 | 40 | Premium | Battle Pass XP Boost (30 Minutes) |
| 5 | 50 | Premium | “Wingspan” - Weapon Charm |
| 6 | 60 | Free | “Libertas” - Weapon Sticker |
| 7 | 70 | Premium | “Home Free” - Vehicle Decal |
| 8 | 80 | Free | “Cali Cruiser” - Vehicle Skin (Traverser Mark 2) |
| 9 | 90 | Premium | Hardware XP Boost (30 Minutes) |
| 10 | 100 | Premium | “Bad Neighbor” Soldier Skin - (NATO Assault Class Desert Locusts Soldier Arif Sayed) |
| 11 | 110 | Free | DB-12 Shotgun (FUNCTIONAL BASE WEAPON) |
The California Resistance Bonus Path can be completed concurrently alongside the Season 1 Battle Pass. In other words, you do not need to choose to make progress between a Season 1 Battle Pass Path - i.e. Rogue Ops, Soldiers Of Fortune - and the California Resistance Bonus Path.
Instead, Bonus Path Tiers are progressed by earning specific Bonus Path Points, separate from the progress made on the Season 1 Battle Pass. Each Bonus Path Tier requires 10 Bonus Path Points to unlock, which means you need to earn 110 Bonus Path points to complete the Bonus Path. Bonus Path Points can be earned in one of two ways:
WEEKLY CHALLENGES may award Bonus Path Points as indicated on the Challenges screen. The amount of Points earned varies by challenge; for example, an easier Weekly Challenge can award a range of Bonus Path Points depending on difficulty.
Not all weekly challenges award Bonus Path Points; specific weekly challenges that grant these points will be made available during the California Resistance event.
CALIFORNIA RESISTANCE EVENT CHALLENGES also reward California Resistance Bonus Path Points; these are objectives themed around this update’s new experiences.
For example, one Event Challenge has a simple objective to complete matches of Sabotage, while another tasks you to get kills or assists with launchers in all modes.
New Battlefield 6 Content
Eastwood - Map, Support for All Combat Sizes, Land Vehicles and Helicopters (Battlefield 6)

War has come to an idyllic neighborhood in Southern California. The luxurious pools and private golf courses of Eastwood have become a battleground. High-intensity action threatens the calm and serenity of this suburban landscape.
Much like Blackwell Fields, Eastwood is an entirely new map with its own bespoke layout, despite it sharing a location similar to Fort Lyndon. All Multiplayer modes can be played on Eastwood, as it has several Combat Zones tailor made for each experience. Some of these experiences will also include the ultimate terror on four wheels…
Turfpro PTV Royale - Vehicle

The deadliest vehicle on the fairway. A 4-person Golf Cart that can transport any squad into or out of combat. Expect this vehicle to be used in the Eastwood map, alongside more “combat-appropriate” machines.
Of course, this commandeered cart cannot handle on-board military-grade weapons, so any defense means must be provided by the infantry who dare to drive these carts into the heat of battle…
Sabotage - Limited-Time Mode, Designed for 8v8 Combat (Battlefield 6)

Protect and Destroy. Two teams fight to attack or defend high-priority cargo in multiple areas across the map. Cargo takes damage from grenades, gadgets, explosives – whatever it takes to get the job done. The team that destroys the most cargo wins.
This Multiplayer mode is in a two-round format to allow both teams to play offense and defense. A standard Sabotage game has three cargo zones, clearly labelled on your map as “A, B and C.” The high-priority cargo is disbursed within each area; from radars and air drops to ammo stacks and supply crates, the attacking team needs to sweep the area and destroy all assets to completely “sabotage” the other team.
In the first round, the designated attacking team (Team 1) must destroy all items in all sites as quickly as possible while fending off the defending team (Team 2). Both the number of cargo sites destroyed and time elapsed is recorded at the end of the round. In the second round, Teams 1 and 2 swap sides: Team 1 defends the sites, while Team 2 races against the clock to beat Team 1’s first round score. A brief overtime period can occur if the attacking team is still in a cargo zone that still has cargo yet to be destroyed.
Teams earn one point per cargo zone destroyed. The team with the most points wins the match; if both teams destroy all sites, the win is given to the team who destroyed all sites faster.
Sabotage will be available on several maps during its limited-time run, including the new Season 1 maps Eastwood and Blackwell Fields.
New Battlefield REDSEC Content - Free-to-Play
Rodeo - Gauntlet Mission

Saddle up for a tank-focused addition to the Gauntlet mission rotation.
In Rodeo, squads must earn eliminations while occupying heavily armored tanks scattered throughout the playable area. The two squads with the least amount of points are removed from the Gauntlet match.
The main Rodeo point-scoring method is earning kills in a vehicle (tank) spawned from a container; these kills are worth three points, triple the standard score for regular kills and revives. At the start of a Rodeo mission, multiple containers, which function similar to their Battle Royale counterparts, are scattered around the map and can be accessed freely without a vehicle keycard.
Rodeos can take place at any point in a Gauntlet outside of the Final Mission; to account for map size, the number of active containers and vehicle resupply stations are scaled accordingly:
| Mission | # of Containers | # of Resupply Stations |
|---|---|---|
| First Mission (Eight Teams) | 8 | 3 |
| Second Mission (Six Teams) | 6 | 2 |
| Third Mission (Four Teams) | 4 | 1 |
This mission is a love letter to the Engineer Class: both of its Training Paths, Anti-Armor and Combat Engineer, give the tools to succeed in driving or destroying tanks, let alone all of the Gadgets at their disposal that help or hinder vehicles. With that in mind, a squad of four Engineers may not be as affected as a more well-rounded squad, especially as the other three Classes have their own methods of disrupting enemy vehicles or those who operate them.
Battle Royale Fort Lyndon Update: SCIFs / Prepper Stashes / Battle Pickup Stashes

The 323’s SCIFs (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities), otherwise known as Prepper Stashes or Battle Pickup Stashes, will be scattered around Fort Lyndon for Battle Royale modes. Inside these armored shipping containers are the means these preppers need to succeed in their resistance: a Battle Pickup, Intel Caches and more.
There are multiple means of getting inside these containers… But intel suggests that The 323 rigged these up for security purposes and should be opened with caution.
Portal Sandbox Map
Build Battlefield 6 from the ground up. Portal is now available as a sandbox, a blank canvas giving creators more freedom than ever to craft and customize unforgettable experiences.
Literally, it’s a sandbox: based on the Siege of Cairo environment, this flat sandy desert with no existing structures is your open oasis for creating anything possible in Portal.
Avid Portal developers should consult our Patch Notes for some additional scripting codes to put into your creations.
Battlefield 6 Free Trial Period
5 modes. 3 maps. 1 free week of Battlefield 6.
From November 25 to December 2, ultimate all-out warfare is free** for everyone. Fight in intense urban combat on the streets of Cairo. Drop into iconic SoCal landscapes turned into battlegrounds on Eastwood and Blackwell Fields. Enter Battlefield’s iconic massive scale warfare in Conquest or Breakthrough. Go head-to-head destroying enemy cargo in Sabotage. Engage in pure high-intensity close-quarters combat in Team Deathmatch. This is your call to squad up. Make it count.
More information about the Free Trial will be shared next week in a dedicated blog article.
New Shared Content in Battlefield 6 and REDSEC
Battle Pickups - Feature (Battlefield 6 AND REDSEC)

Battle Pickups are weapons of unprecedented power that can turn the tides of battle. These weapons are rare and can only be found in high value caches around the map. Secure a Battle Pickup to gain a major tactical advantage for your squad.
- Rorsch Mk-2 SMRW: A chargeable Railgun inflicting massive damage to soldiers, vehicles, and structures.
- MP-RMG: A Minigun with a fast rate of fire, effective against light vehicles and infantry.
Battle Pickups are coming later in this update across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC experiences
DB-12 - Shotgun (Battlefield 6 AND REDSEC)

A dual barrel pump-action shotgun that feeds from two different tubes. One trigger pull shoots the cartridge from one barrel, a second trigger pull shoots the other, then the pump action rechambers both barrels.
The bullpup DB-12 is fit to be slung around with the Assault Class or in any loadout that can solve serious close-range problems. Its dual shot potential serves several purposes: it can better guarantee the downing of a single enemy, save face when that initial pull misses the mark, or better tackle an enemy duo or groups compared to one single buckshot, flechette or shell from the other pump-action alternatives.
This weapon is the final free item included in the California Resistance Bonus Path.
M357 Trait - Sidearm (Battlefield 6 AND REDSEC)

High damage with a low rate of fire, this eight-round revolver is strong up close with a considerable damage drop-off compared to the .44 Magnum.
The M357 Trait is a “skillshot” Sidearm; unlike semi-automatic alternatives in this weapon category, this revolver requires precise shots to effectively damage, down, and eliminate foes. For Battle Royale, expect the M357 Trait to be a viable competitor as a starting loadout weapon, able to deter threats in the early game moments. In all other modes, including the free-to-play Gauntlet in REDSEC and Multiplayer modes like Sabotage, the M357 Trait should serve as a great backup weapon in close-range situations.
The M357 Trait is unlocked via the Season 1 Challenge Assignment; see in-game for more details.
Slim Handstop - Attachment (Battlefield 6 AND REDSEC)

The third attachment to come in Season 1, this grip offers an alternative choice for underbarrel choices with its unique blend of ergonomic and handling changes.
Like the M357 Trait and previous attachments added in Season 1, the Slim Handstop is unlocked via the Season 1 Challenge Assignment.
Prepare for Winter Offensive - Available December 9

The final major update for Season 1 - and for Battlefield 6 in 2025 - is the Winter Offensive, set to be launched on December 9. Prepare to break through an icy stalemate; expect the Empire State to freeze over, Multiplayer and Gauntlet mode variants using a new Ice Lock mechanic, and additional Portal updates before the end of the year.
More intel on this update will be released on December 9 in line with the update; here’s a recap of what we shared already in previous roadmap communications:
Ice Lock Empire State - Limited-Time Map Update (Battlefield 6)
Environmental threats detected -- temperatures have dropped well below freezing in Brooklyn. Gear up, stay warm, and take complete control of the borough with this limited time visual update to the Empire State map.
Ice Lock - Limited-Time Event (Battlefield 6)
The Ice Lock looms…
This Limited-Time Event is centered around a mechanic called Freeze, a gameplay modifier that slowly reduces player health if they do not seek external heat sources. Don’t be caught snowblind; Combat Zones will have designated Heat Zones to bring your core temperature back up to normal, or you can create fire using Incendiary Grenades and other Gadgets.
Ice Lock Gauntlet - Limited-Time Event (REDSEC)
Similar to the Ice Lock for Battlefield 6 Multiplayer, Gauntlet will have a Limited-Time Ice Lock variant that adds to the experience’s relentless nature with the sheer force of harsh winter conditions.
Unlike a traditional Gauntlet on Fort Lyndon, Ice Lock Gauntlet takes place on the Battlefield 6 Multiplayer map Empire State Ice Lock with a locked set of three operations in every match. Master these operations while braving the effects of Freeze, and your squad will be rewarded with more than just the pride of victory.
Ice Climbing Axe - Melee
Designed to make an enemy’s blood run cold or pick through more delicate environmental pieces, expect this new melee tool to compliment this category typically reserved for knives and the sledgehammer. The Ice Climbing Axe will be made available as the final Free Tier in the Winter Offensive Bonus Path.
Portal Updates
Expect a new Verified mode and all Winter Offensive content, including the Ice Lock Empire State map and the Ice Lock variant rules, to be added to Portal.
