28. Mai 2025

Here are some beginner-friendly tips based on your most searched questions, so that you’re prepared to play F1® 25 when it releases on May 30 across PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

How to Play with Friends in F1 25

Playing F1® 25 with friends is some of the most fun you will have in the game. To play with friends, you’ll first need to add them to your Friends List.

Open the ‘Player Card Hub’ on the Main Menu by pressing the corresponding button shown at the top of the screen, then navigate to Friends. This is where you can see Invites & Requests, Find F1 Players, Friends, and Blocked Players. If your friends are on a different platform to you, you can add them as an EA friend by typing in their Player ID in the Player ID screen.

Once you have added your friends to your friends list and are in an online lobby or game session, select ‘Invite Friends’ to send an invite to those you want to join you.

How to use DRS in F1 25

DRS, which stands for Drag Reduction System, allows you to open the rear wing of your car on certain parts of a track when you’re within a second of the car in front of you. This reduces drag and makes you go faster.

If you want to deploy DRS manually when racing, firstly make sure that the DRS button is assigned correctly in the Settings > Controller, Vibration & Force Feedback menu. Then, when in DRS zones, you can press that button to enable DRS. On the head-up display, you are given a countdown to when you’re about to enter a DRS zone.

DRS can be set to enable automatically by selecting the DRS Assist option in the Assists menu.

If you want to deploy ERS manually when racing, firstly make sure that the ERS button is assigned correctly in the Settings > Controller, Vibration & Force Feedback menu. Then, when you want to deploy ERS, press that button for a small boost. On the head-up display, you can see how much ERS you have remaining and can keep an eye on it recharging.

How to change the AI difficulty in F1 25

With over 100 AI difficulty options in F1® 25, you may wish to adjust things so that the computer-controlled drivers you’re racing against are more or less competitive on track.

Whether you’re playing in offline or in online game modes, you can change this by going into the Difficulty setting before a Practice, Qualifying, or Race event.

In some special circumstances, the AI difficulty is locked so if the option is greyed out, don’t worry, this is normal.

When on-track, press the dedicated Radio button on your head-up display and you can cycle through each of the radio calls that are available. Once you’ve highlighted the message you want, select it.
