Our Motive, by Patrick Klaus Join us on our next adventure.

    Hello everyone,

At Motive, we love telling stories. We love stories that take you on a journey, that entertain you but also surprise you. We love stories that make you think, that are inclusive and universal, and that ignite your imagination and evoke various emotions. It’s one of the reasons we enjoyed working on Star Wars titles and now the Dead Space™ remake—because they’re iconic brands with fascinating lore.

Now we have the honor and privilege to unleash our creativity with the new Iron Man game we’re developing in collaboration with Marvel Games.

It’s really important to me as the General Manager for Motive to make games that my team will be passionate about; that fire in the belly can translate into something amazing. Now we have the unique opportunity to bring that passion to a fan-favorite Marvel Super Hero, Iron Man. It’s exciting! And it’s a little daunting. Our team loves Marvel, and we know expectations are high. But we’re going all-in to do the best work of our careers and make a great single player, action-adventure Iron Man game.

What’s especially exciting is that with this project, we have the opportunity to create a new and unique story. We are very much in the early stages and expect a big game like this to take years to create. Our goal in announcing the game early is to invite developers who are just as passionate about Marvel as we are to consider joining Motive. It's also because we will want to engage with the community of players in due course. Stay tuned.

While this amazing partnership is the most recent news, it’s certainly not all that’s happening at Motive. As I mentioned, the Dead Space remake is deep in the polishing phase, and we can’t wait for you to get your hands on it on January 27, 2023. And as our portfolio grows, we’re focusing more than ever on keeping our teams happy, healthy, and safe. With that goal in mind, we’ve evolved our work model to offer the power of choice to all employees, to decide if they want to work from our studio or from home. We’re always looking at opportunities to also connect in person, of course! It’s energizing to be together, and it brings a sense of purpose and belonging.

If you’d like to be part of that future, we continue to be on the lookout for great talent. So if you love Iron Man or Dead Space—or both!—please don’t hesitate to visit our Careers page to find a role that suits you.

The studio is now seven years old, and we have rock-solid foundations. We know exactly what our Motive is today: We create innovative action games within iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero. It’s a great place to be.
