Motive is expanding its recruitment efforts

Patrick Klaus, Motive GM, shares the studio's latest news, from the future of work model to the expansion of recruitment efforts in Canada.

Hello World (that’s everyone outside my basement office!)

I can’t believe it’s fall already; maple leaves are turning to beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow around Montreal.

It’s been over 18 months since the pandemic was declared, with Motive team members working remotely ever since. In this context, we have achieved more than I thought would have been possible, releasing Star Wars™: Squadrons and starting work on the Dead Space™ remake.

It’s been challenging for our beloved studio, but together we’ve adapted and supported each other with incredible team spirit. In many ways, these testing times have made us stronger as a team which is a great foundation for our future.

We strongly believe in amazing synergies and creative energy sparked from being physically together. We have also learnt that we can function  well with some team members working remotely. It’s important that we continue to  listen to our employees and work closely with them to figure out our future work model together, which will likely include a mix of different approaches - some team members in the office, some hybrid, and some fully remote.

One thing we know for sure is that flexibility for our employees will be important. To that end, I’m very pleased to announce that Motive will be expanding its recruitment efforts to two other Canadian cities that have also become impressive hubs for video game development, Quebec City and Toronto. Team members in these cities will be working remotely on the exciting projects currently in development in the Montreal studio.

We’re deeply committed to creating innovative action games within iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero, through an inclusive and diverse team of talented and passionate unique individuals. We strongly believe having diverse mindsets will help us support our mission.

Can’t wait to share more soon.

Patrick
