Tips and Tricks for the Interceptor Javelin

See the Interceptor javelin in action and discover what it can do.

In this video, Arekkz speeds into battle with the Interceptor javelin and shows you how you can get the most out of this agile suit in Anthem™.

Small, sleek, and agile, the Interceptor has been the favorite choice for Corvus’ long-range scouts, infiltrators, and assassins due to its ability to strike with surgical precision. While it may not look overly intimidating, this javelin is unmatched when it comes to evasion. If you like to get into and out of battle before your enemies even know what hit them, this is the javelin for you.

One of the Interceptor’s main weapons is a pair of double-bladed daggers. They can be used to create a multi-hit chain of powerful attacks that can be continued almost indefinitely. They’re perfect for melee combat against weaker enemies, to take down the shields of stronger opponents, or to combo with your teammates.

The Interceptor can also chain together three consecutive dashes (either on the ground or in the air) allowing you to easily reposition yourself offensively or defensively in combat.

The Interceptor has access to a variety of gear that allows it to perform devastating techniques in combat, too. These abilities fall within three core categories:

Assault Systems – Cluster Mines, Cryo Glaive, Searching Glaive, Spark Dash, and Venom Bomb

Strike Systems – Detonating Strike, Plasma Star, Tempest Strike, Venom Spray, and Wraith Strike

Support Systems – Rally Cry and Target Beacon

Choosing the abilities that complement one another will help you to more reliably tackle even the toughest opponents. For example, abilities like the Venom Bomb and Cryo Glaive can prime enemies with an acid or frost status effect, while an ability like Tempest Strike can detonate the effects resulting in powerful combos. For more information on using combos, see our Advanced Combat Guide.

Each javelin also has access to a devastating ultimate ability: for the Interceptor that’s the Assassins’ Blades. When activated, you become super-charged, allowing you to carve through everything in your path. Your javelin is invulnerable to damage while your ultimate is in effect, so take full advantage.

Mastering the Interceptor’s movements and abilities are key to using it effectively in battle. The most important thing to keep in mind is to stay on the move; when taking damage the Interceptor will regenerate its shields faster if it’s moving, dashing, or flying.
