Westie shows you how to get your hands on the best weapons in Battlefield™ V: Firestorm.

Firestorm offers 16 primary weapons separated into different categories:

Rifles – good for close, mid-, and long-range combat

SMGs and Shotguns – best at close and extreme close-range combat

Machine Guns – great at mid- to long-range combat plus suppressive power

Sniper Rifles – powerful and deadly at any range with enough skill

You’ll be able to carry two primary weapons and a sidearm plus a plethora of gadgets in your inventory. To find out more about your inventory and how to make the most of it, check out our inventory management Boot Camp blog.

Each weapon then has a rarity tier:

    Common - Green

    Rare - Blue

    Epic - Purple

You’ll see a small UI element pop up as you approach the loot, showing you the rarity quickly and clearly via the colors above. Common (green) weapons are base level, no Specializations and come equipped with iron sights. A Rare (blue) weapon will have a short-range optic attached plus two lower-level Specializations. Epic (purple) weapons come with longer-range optic options and two higher-level Specializations.

Where do you find weapons in Firestorm? If you’re looking for the best weapons you’re going to want to focus your looting on Objectives and named locations. Objectives will be shown on the map, and Resupply Points will have an additional visual indicator – a huge barrage balloon floating overhead. Resupply Points will reward you with Rare and Epic loot.

Named locations or landmarks will often contain Safes and Strongboxes. From Strongboxes you can receive loot of any rarity tier, sometimes including Epics. Safes, however, offer a much higher chance for Epics and for weapons and ammunition in particular. Supply Drops (indicated by a green flare) are another great place to find Epic weapons. Their visibility makes them a risky looting target, but in many cases the rewards will be well worth the effort.
