Since the official launch of Command & Conquer: Rivals in December, there have been some incredible battles. We’ve watched thrilling victories, close upsets, and a ton of fantastic gameplay from our Rivals Community. From top players to brand-new recruits, we’ve enjoyed your videos, livestreams, comments, and feedback. We cannot wait to see more from our incredible community of players.
As the new year begins, we want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing passion and dedication of all of you in our community. On Saturday, Jan. 12 at 7PM PST, join us as we kick off 2019 with the Command & Conquer: Rivals Launch Celebration on Twitch and YouTube. Here’s what to expect:
REVEALS
The Redwood Studios devs will be on-hand to reveal what’s coming next to Rivals, including new units and a big new feature.
‘STARS VS SUPERFANS’
This celebration will feature some of the biggest names in mobile gaming (Chief Pat, Alvaro845, Orange Juice, NickAtNyte and Molt) competing in a variety of different matchups with support from some of their biggest fans. Can the “superfans” take down their favorite YouTubers … and which star will shine the brightest?
COMPETITIVE SHOWCASE & IN-GAME REWARDS
We want to honor some of the players who have been dominating since the early days of the Rivals Pre-Alpha, as well as throw a wildcard from the leaderboards into the mix. So, we invited four well-known Rivals players to the party to play on behalf of you.
For the first time ever, we will be showcasing Command & Conquer: Rivals competitive gameplay, and each player will represent a different region: The Americas, Europe, Southeast Asia, and East Asia (Korea/Japan). If the player representing your region wins, every player within that region will receive a special Launch Celebration Bundle in their player inbox!
Competing for the title of Rivals Community Champion in the semifinals will be AliciaDestiny (representing The Americas) vs in-game rival 13lade (Europe) as well as JadeXyan (East Asia) vs. mobile esports pro IraqiZorro (Southeast Asia). So for example, if 13lade wins this mini-tournament, all players in Europe will receive the Launch Celebration Bundle at no charge!
To get the speculation going, all Match 1 maps have been selected already (by the player who won a coin toss). Subsequent maps will be selected by the player who lost the last battle. Take a look at what to expect …
- Semifinal 1: AliciaDestiny (The Americas) vs 13lade (Europe) – Match 1 on Great Divide
- Semifinal 2: JadeXyan (East Asia) vs IraqiZorro (Southeast Asia) – Match 1 on Open Water
- Finals: TBD vs TBD – Match 1 on Broken Mesa
The semifinals and finals will be best-of-3 series. Players in the winning region will receive an inbox message to redeem their reward within 14 days of the tournament (likely much sooner).
