EA is proud to have participated in the Hour of Code, a global campaign to help young students learn computer science.

It’s a priority for us at EA to positively impact the community through our games, programs and the inclusive environment within our studios.

To continue that focus, EA is proud to have participated in the Hour of Code, a global campaign to help young students learn computer science.

Computer sciences help students learn problem solving skills, build logic and develop their creativity.

EA employees around the world are have been a part of Hour of Code events in local EA offices like EA Canada and EA Redwood Shores.

In the hour-long sessions, students were given hands on tutorials from senior programmers and participated in interactive exercises.

There are over 300 schools participating all around the world, giving 50 million students from all different backgrounds a chance to attend. Hour of Code events have reached over 180 countries.

“My hope is that this will spark teachers and students to become more interested in coding and start them thinking about the opportunities in this area in the future,” says Garth Errico, Director of Instruction at Burnaby Elementary School.

Hour of Code is an inspiring experience for everyone involved, from the students to those helping to teach the next generation of players.

“It was so amazing seeing all the kids engaged and having fun during the Hour of Code event,” James Banting, Sr. Software Engineer. “These kids are going to be brilliant programmers.”
