How has it been working at EA for the second summer?
At Drexel University, I am going into my senior year in a 5-year co-op program that has put me into three 6 month co-ops. After obtaining my first one through Drexel’s internal application process/ranking system, I decided that in order to get the experience I wanted, I needed to go out on my own and apply for internships at game companies. Having played EA games my whole life, applying here was really a no-brainer. After going through the online application process, I got accepted and started my first internship at EA! This was last year, and I loved it so much that I had to come back for my third and final co-op. Now that it’s coming to an end, I could not be happier with my experience.
While at EA, I have had the opportunity to work with many different people on many different projects. The work that I have been given has truly fostered my growth as both a marketer and as a professional (despite the laid back atmosphere). From my time here, I think the most valuable skill I’ve learned is how to analyze data and use that data to get my points across. Working for EA, we have access to tons of data. When communicating to someone why you think a certain way, it is essential to have data to back up what you are saying; otherwise you’re just stating a hunch – and no one wants to make important business decisions off of a hunch.
