EA SPORTS: Congratulations for making the EA SPORTS™ FIFA 15 Ultimate Team, Team of the Week Jed! How does it feel?
Jed Wallace: It’s a good feeling, as a kid when you grow up you want to be on FIFA, and to get in the team of the week is something I’m pretty happy about.
EA SPORTS: You feature in this week’s team in illustrious company alongside the likes of Pirlo, Silva, Griezmann, Robben if you could choose one of those players to play alongside you at Portsmouth who would it be and why?
Jed Wallace: I don’t think you’d get many people that play on the pitches we do in League Two that would keep the ball as well as Pirlo so it would probably be him. I think he’d be quite handy for us, yeh I’d go for him I think.
EA SPORTS: Composure on the ball, the way he (Pirlo) shifts it quickly is that a style you like to play with on FIFA
Jed Wallace: Yeh of course, if you are practicing the free kicks in the arena or you’re playing with someone like him online you’ve got much more of a chance scoring free kicks with him on the game than you have with me!
EA SPORTS: Do you ever play as yourself in the game? What do you think of your stats?
Jed Wallace: So normally when I play, I play with Real Madrid or Barcelona to be honest, purely so I can play with Ronaldo and pop it in the top corner! That doesn’t happen much when I play as me, but whenever the game comes out I do have a little look at my stats. I’ve got a bit of pace this year in the game which helps.
EA SPORTS: What’s your general approach to playing FIFA? Do you play a passing game or are you all about pace and counterattacking football?
Jed Wallace: Definitely pace. Gung ho! 3-5-2, high full backs. I’ve got the Real Madrid team playing like this.
EA SPORTS: We’ve got your updated stats here in the TOTW, are you happy with Jed Wallace in FIFA 15 Ultimate Team™?
Jed Wallace: Playing wise, I’m pretty happy with my stats. Most people like pace in the game so hopefully with this upgrade a few people will be trying to sign me!
EA SPORTS: So what about the players at Pompey, are any of them decent on FIFA?
Jed Wallace: We’ve got Josh Passley on loan from Fulham and he’s been staying with me the last couple of weeks, we’ve been playing a bit. Jack Whatmough he plays a bit as well. We use to have a console we took to away games and we’re going to invest in another one now.
EA SPORTS: As well as securing a place in the FUT Team of The Week, yours and Portsmouth’s recent resurgence in form has seen you flying up the league table. What do you put that down to?
Jed Wallace: We’ve had a lot of momentum. We’ve won a couple of games in a row and then you get a bit of confidence and now were taking that into games. We were 2-0 down on Tuesday night (vs Tranmere Rovers) with 15 minutes to go and then we won 3-2 and I don’t think anyone would have expected that to happen 6 weeks ago. It’s been a good turnaround and now we just need to keep that going.
