On Saturday, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar had a hat-trick for FC Schalke 04 as they defeated Mainz 4-1 at the Veltins Arena. The Gelsenkirchen-side have won two straight league matches but will have it tough against VfB Stuttgart this Saturday.
Glen Johnson’s 85th minute goal helped Liverpool defeat Stoke City 1-0 and end their four match winless streak. The club made it two wins in a row on Tuesday, as they erased an early own-goal to beat Leicester City 1-3.
On Sunday, Manchester City’s Gaël Clichy scored his first league goal of the season as the club easily defeated Southampton 0-3 and leap-frog them to take over second place in the Barclays Premier League.
