2022: Year in Playtesting
Let’s reflect on an incredible year where we Inspired the Future of Play together!
With 2022 coming to an end, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate all our incredible Playtesters. Your feedback helps us make better games for everyone.
Let’s take a look at some of the highlights from a great Year in Playtesting:
More Playtesters than ever
The Electronic Arts Playtesting Community reached a massive 1.8 million Playtesters! We loved seeing so many new faces in our Playtests and hope to bring even more players into the program in 2023.
Inspire the Future of Play
With 196 Playtests, over 24,000 Playtesters took part in a Playtest this year! Our Playtesters completed a total of 5978 feedback surveys, which we made into 196 Playtest reports for our development teams!

Doors were opened
One of our biggest wins from 2022 was being able to open our doors once again to on-site Playtests! We had the joy of welcoming our Playtesters to 50 on-site Playtests across our 6 Player Experience Labs.

What’s more exciting than that I hear you ask?! Well, not only did we have 50 on-site Playtests, but we also held a record 146 at-home Playtests! We loved getting to meet our Playtesters in person again, but we’re so happy to be able to host more and more remote Playtests. Our goal is to get as many of you involved as possible!

Playtests for everyone
2022 was a year full of variety! While 114 of our 196 Playtests were for sports and shooter games, the other 82 were split across simulation, action-adventure, racing, horror, RPG, and other game genres!
Not only that, but we also offered a wide range of Playtest types! You took part in 72 Group Playtests, 65 1-on-1s, 9 Community Playtests, as well as a mixture of Survey Only, Focus Groups, and other types of Playtests!
We’re always looking to get a huge range of players involved in our Playtests, and we’ll continue to offer as much variety as possible.

3 Rewards stole the show
Who doesn’t love a reward? 3 rewards reigned supreme from our 217 different reward options (for reward-eligible Playtests). Apex Legends Coins, Battlefield 2042, and The Sims 4 Expansion Packs were in hot demand throughout the year.

Looking ahead
It’s been a great year, but our focus now shifts to making 2023 even better for our Playtesters!
We’re expecting more opportunities to get involved in an even wider range of Playtests to make sure that we hear from as many of you as possible.
We’ll also be aiming to improve our website, reward offering, and Player Experience Labs - plus plenty more initiatives to help make Electronic Arts Playtesting as good as it can be!
