What is Crossplay?

Crossplay is available in EA SPORTS™ NHL® 27 with improved capabilities that let you play against AND with players in Ultimate Team and World of Chel for the most connected Chel experience yet. These improved capabilities mean that your competitor pool will continue to grow, and you can also team up with even more friends in your favorite online-enabled modes.

Crossplay allows players on PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S to compete against each other in online modes, opening up a larger matchmaking pool and faster, fairer matchmaking. EA Connect integration provides a unified social experience for players across platforms, with shared leaderboards, player cards, and more.

Will Crossplay allow for cross-console invitations?

Crossplay will allow cross-console invitations in World of Chel. Players on PlayStation 5 can send World of Chel game invites to players on XBOX Series X|S.

HUT will allow Cross-Console invites in the form of private match invites.

When is Crossplay available in EA SPORTS NHL 27?

Crossplay will be available at launch. 

Which NHL 27 modes will have crossplay?

All online-enabled Connected Franchise, Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) and World of Chel modes.

How does Crossplay matchmaking impact HUT leaderboards and the Auction House?

The HUT leaderboards will remain console-specific.

The Auction House will be combined on PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S.

How will Crossplay affect wait times during matchmaking?

Crossplay increases player pools significantly and may reduce wait times to find opponents.
