NHL 27 HUT | FRIGHT NIGHT EVENT: MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM

A spooky "Fright Night" event graphic detailing the "Mystery of the Phantom." It lists steps like earning keys, solving riddles, and exchanging items to unlock a mystery 90-overall player.

Get ready for a Halloween mystery in NHL 27 HUT. Fright Night begins on October 23, 2026, at 5 pm ET. This special two-week event challenges you to find keys, solve riddles, and reveal the identity of the mysterious Phantom.

Throughout the event, you’ll earn Crypt Keys by playing Wildcard, completing Moments, and tackling Objectives. Use your keys to answer riddles, submit your guesses, and earn Phantom Coins for every correct answer. You’ll need to solve the mysteries across both weeks to collect all the coins required to unlock the Phantom.

But that’s not all. You’ll also need to unlock all the Featured Fright Night players from both weeks to earn the tokens required for the final Phantom Set. Can you piece together the clues and solve the mystery before Fright Night comes to an end?

HOW TO EARN PHANTOM COINS

Answer the riddles by completing sets. Each answer will have its own set.
Trading in a Crypt Key for one of the answer sets will give you a pack.
- Crypt Keys will be awarded for completing the Wildcard, Event Objectives, and Event Moments for a total of 3 Crypt Keys per week.
Completing the correct set for each riddle will give out a Phantom Coin specific to that riddle (Example: Correctly answering the 1st Riddle gives you the Ancient Skate Coin)
Answering a riddle incorrectly will give out a Dead Coin.
- Dead Coins can be put back into the Dead Coin set to create a Crypt Key.
- If you used up all your Crypt Keys, there is also a Crypt Key set that allows players to create a Crypt Key with Player Items.

HOW TO EARN PHANTOM UPGRADE TOKENS

Each Featured Fright Night Player will have their own Phantom Upgrade Token set.
Trading in the Fright Night Player Item will give the user a BND Choice Pack of all the Featured Fright Night Players from the same week and a Phantom Upgrade Token.
The Phantom Upgrade Token received is specific to the week in which the Featured Fright Night Player is released. Participate in both weeks to unlock the Phantom.
