Wildcard Wednesday: Rising Stars
- Odafe Oweh (BAL | ROLB | 92 OVR)
- Oweh’s been successful in his rookie year, being worked into the Baltimore defense, and that success is rewarded virtually in the MUT universe with this item. Oweh comes in with a 91 speed, 92 power moves and 91 block shedding, making him an asset on passing downs.
- Joe Burrow (CIN | QB | 91 OVR)
- Another option for a pocket-passing, field general QB dropped in Wildcard Wednesday this week. Burrow’s 91 throw power and 88, 90 and 89 short, medium and deep accuracy ratings are enough to successfully man most MUT offenses, but his 83 speed adds some mobility to his game, too.
- Jordan Fuller (LAR | SS | 91 OVR)
- Fuller, a 2020 sixth-round pick has ascended to an every-down starter on the Los Angeles defense. His 91 speed, 91 zone coverage and 88 man coverage make him a weapon in any defensive scheme.
- Kadarius Toney (NYG | WR | 91 OVR)
- Toney burst onto the scene for the Giants when given the opportunity and now he’s got a sweet item in MUT. The 92 speed is the item’s calling card, but don’t sleep on the 91 short route running.
- Greedy Williams (CLE | CB | 91 OVR)
- The third-year cornerback out of LSU drops into MUT with a rock-solid item. The 92 speed, 91 man coverage 90 zone coverage make this item a must-start on any squad.

Legends Reveal
LeGarrette Blount (NE | HB | 95 OVR)
This legend speaks to my soul. Who didn’t love LeGarrette Blount? The journeyman put together a nine-year NFL career, spanning the active rosters of five teams and winning three Super Bowls. Blount was a bowling ball who could turn your favorite team’s defense into pins in a matter of seconds. Blount was a product of East Mississippi Community College and then the University of Oregon. He was undrafted, but proved all doubters wrong in the long run. He has more than 6,300 rushing yards and 56 touchdowns under his belt, 18 of which came in 2016 with the Patriots. This item is generous to Blount in the best way possible. It will redefine any team’s run game with a 93 speed, 94 trucking and 95 break tackle.
Jonathan Vilma (NO | MLB | 95 OVR)
An arch nemesis of my favorite Atlanta Falcons teams, Vilma was a staple on the New Orleans defense. Unlike Blount, Vilma was heralded coming out of college and was selected 14th overall in 2004 by the Jets and won defensive rookie of the year. After the Jets, Vilma was traded to the Saints and started 15 of 16 regular season games on their 2009 Super Bowl squad. He finished his career with 879 combined tackles, 12 interceptions, 11 forced fumbles and three touchdowns. This Vilma item is a monster in the middle of the field for your defense. With a 92 speed, this item can be played at any linebacker position on any down, no coming off the field on passing downs. The 93 tackling, 94 play recognition, 94 block shedding and 95 hit power make this item, in my opinion, the best middle linebacker in the game!

TJ’s Top Five: Harvest
5) T.J. Hockenson
No, I didn’t just pick Hockenson because of the first name, though I will say I’m a fan. This item is a balanced tight end in the best way. His 87 speed is up there with the best TEs in MUT and is enough to pick apart some mismatches. The 87 catch in traffic and 90 spectacular catch make this item a weapon at any level of the field, and the 79 strength/80 run blocking combo makes this item one of the better run blocking TEs in the game.
4) Antonio Brown (TB | WR | Champions 94 OVR)
Another elite WR in MUT, why not? I couldn’t even begin to muster a qualm with this beautifully complete item. The 92 speed, 92 deep route running and 93 spectacular catch make AB a formidable deep threat. I’m talking about -- any time you even think you might have a remote chance of single coverage you send him on a fade, chuck the ball and pray -- type of deep threat. It doesn’t end there. AB’s item’s short route running is a 90, medium route running a 92 and catch in traffic a 91. Good luck defending an offense with this item out there.
3) Deion Sanders (DAL | CB | Champions 94 OVR)
The advantage in coverage you get with this Sanders item on the field is borderline unfair. The physical ratings, 91 jumping, 93 speed and 94 acceleration, are enough to match up with any receiver in the game. Sanders’ 94 awareness and play recognition make this item a mental giant as well. Now, throw in a 94 man coverage and 93 press coverage and you have yourself an elite CB. The only question mark is the 81 press coverage, which, isn’t even much of a question mark considering every other rating.
2) Chase Young (WFT | RE | Champions 94 OVR)
If you’ve read these Top Five lists before, you know I love a good pass rusher. This Chase Young item is exactly that, and some. Immediately I gravitate towards the 87 speed. No, it’s not quite unicorn-level, but it’s still overwhelming from a refined pass rusher, especially combined with the 87 speed and 93 block shedding. Those ratings mean Chase Young can play all over the defensive line. Throw in the 94 finesse moves and 94 tackling, and you’ve got the consummate defensive end.
1) Jabrill Peppers (NYG | SS | LTD 95 OVR)
Stop me if you’ve heard this before -- this item is instantly one of the best in the game. The confluence of power, speed and skill with this Peppers item is ridiculous. Let’s start with his 92 speed, already one of the better speed ratings among defensive backs, which gives you an edge regardless of the other attributes. Here’s the thing, every other rating fits that description. The 90 tackle and 94 hit power will have your opponents taking all sorts of sacks before they even consider throwing it in Peppers’ area. On the coverage front, more of the same, 93 man coverage 90 zone coverage. This item is downright beastly and if I get my hands on it, it will be a staple in my lineup for a very long time.
