Cadiz CF's DFernandes has been tearing it up in the eChampions League this season, surpassing many expectations to secure a spot in the eChampions League Finals.

We spoke to the Portuguese star about how he feels about competing in the competition, the biggest moment of his career and much more.

How does it feel to represent your country in the eChampions League?

“No other Portuguese player has managed to get to this stage before. So it’s a huge honour for myself and for Portugal as a nation to be here representing them in an EA FC 24 competition."

What’s been the most fun part about competing in this competition for you?

“I think when it comes to incredible moments, I’d say that beating Neat in the playoffs after extra time and penalties was the most amazing moment of my career so far. I’d actually pay money to go back and relive that moment because it was so incredible.”

How have your family and friends reacted to your success in the tournament?

“My family have been incredibly proud of me and this moment I'm having. I do everything for them because they’ve supported me throughout my whole eSports career. They would’ve been proud of me even if I lost, but I managed to win so they’re even prouder.”

You’ve been a dark horse in the competition so far, what can fans expect from you now that you’re in the Finals?

“I’m the sort of player that is never going to give up. As fans have seen in previous games, it doesn’t matter if I’m even a couple of goals down, I’ll keep fighting until the end and never give up.

“That’s what fans can expect from me. They can expect to see an exciting game that will carry on to the final whistle.”
