The eSerie A Grand Finals provided some incredibly upsets as a new champion was crowned in Verona, Italy.

Quarter-finals

ExeedVirgil_ had the first upset of the tournament by defeating Antonini Gabriel in a shocking encounter.
After dominating Group B during the eSerieA TIM regular season, Gabriel was the favourite to win this matchup, with many believing the 19-year-old would overwhelm Virgil with his relentless offense.
However, after going 2-1 up against the Fiorentina man, Gabriel’s performance dropped dramatically. This allowed Virgil to take over the match and put six goals past his opponent. It seemed like Gabriel couldn’t stop making catastrophic mistakes in defense and Virgil took advantage of every single one.

Juventus Dsyre vs Genoa eSports
DaniPitbull proved once again why many consider him to be one of greatest players to compete in the eSerie A TIM, following his dominant 6-3 win over OliBoli.
Pitbull started the game fast, scoring an early goal to put OliBoli on the backfoot. Despite the Swede attempting to fight back, he was simply no match for the former eSerie A champion due to his attacking play being simply unstoppable at times.
The most impressive part of Pitbull’s match against OliBoli was the reigning champion’s game IQ. He scored a fantastically worked goal with Candreva that had the commentary and FC community giving him plenty of praise.

Torino FC eSports vs Verona | Exeed
Luconegua had the biggest upset of the competition, sending Obrun crashing out of the tournament in a shocking 7-1 defeat.
Luco was a sizeable underdog against the former eSerie A champion, but it became apparent very quickly that Luco had Obrun’s number. Luco stormed into a 4-0 lead in the first-half, shocking everyone in attendance.
With nine minute halves being utilised in this tournament, there was still a chance that the favourite could make a comeback. However, the second half was as dominant as the first as Luco punished a disheartened Obrun every time he made a mistake.

AC Monza Team eSports vs Cagliari eSports
HHezers cruised through to the semi-finals with a decisive 4-2 victory over Cosimo Guarneri.
Cosimo is a longtime FC veteran and he showed his expertise early in the game, tagging HHezers back after the Group A champion took the lead. However, Cosimo’s comeback didn’t last long as Hezers’ hit him with two quick goals.
HHezers controlled the game from there on out, successfully keeping Cosimo at bay as he tried to force another comeback during the latter stages of the second half.

Semi-finals
Fiorentina Esports vs Juventus Desire
If one upset victory wasn’t enough for ExeedVirgil_ then a second one against DaniPitbull proved that he’s one of the elite players of the eSerie A TIM.
Despite competing against the two-time eSerie A TIM champion, Virgil didn’t look like an underdog at any point in the game. In fact, he outplayed Pitbull throughout their match by completely shutting down his opponent’s legendary offense.
While Virgil’s defensive play was fantastic, he was also ruthless in front of goal, scoring two well-worked goals to knock the reigning champion out.

AC Monza Team eSports vs Torino FC eSports
In what was quite easily the game of the night, Hezers and Luconegua had a nine-goal thriller with the Group A champion coming out on top.
It felt like both players went on full out attack from the very beginning, with both of them exchanging the lead multiple times. At one point in the match, Hezers found himself down 4-3 with very little time left on the clock.
However, as the commentary crew reminded us, Hezers never gave up and his determination helped him stage an epic comeback to earn a well-deserved 5-4 victory.

AC Monza Team eSports vs Fiorentina Esports
Hezers demolished ExeedVirgil over two legs, cementing himself as the new eSerie A champion.
The two-legged final was very much over in the first game as the AC Monza man defeated his opponent 9-3. It seemed like a goal would come with every wave of attack, as HHezers pressure game completely nullified his opponent.
Even with a second game to play, it looked like an incredibly difficult comeback for Virgil to take on. He certainly tried his best in the second game, but he still had no true answer on how to stop HHezers from breaching his defense, eventually losing 6-2 to Hezers.
