Following his spectacular winning run in the eSerie A Finals, HHezers makes his return to the eChampions League for this upcoming season.

After coming second in the eChampions League in 2023, the AC Monza player has been preparing himself to go one step further in the competition this season.

We spoke to him prior to him competing in the eChampions League Group stage.

How’s your trip to London been so far for the eChampions League?

“I was here last year for the eChampions League and I really like London a lot. It might be my favourite city in the world. There’s so much to do, it’s a really modern city and you can do pretty much anything.

How’s your preparation for the eChampions League been so far?

“This tournament was so close to eSerie A, so I've just been playing the game to get myself ready for the competition. We were practicing for eSerie A and two weeks later we’re here, so I’ve just been trying to maintain my training.

“Obviously, the squad is different so I’ve had to adapt to some things before competing.”

Do you prefer having both competitions back-to-back so soon?

“I prefer having them so close together because it keeps training continious. Sometimes you train, but you’re not in a competition for two months. However, with these two tournaments I’ve been able to just keep training going.”

Who do you enjoy watching most?

“It really depends. Watching a lot of games can be hard, so I don’t watch it all the time. However, I do watch it to learn dynamics and how to play the game. So I mostly watch the game to help myself get better.”

What is the difference between competing in the eSerie A and eChampions League?

“The eSerie A is an Italian event, so you’re around your people and it feels familiar. The eChampions League is a much bigger event, so the preparation is a lot more.

“I will say that there was more pressure than ever with eSerie A, because if you don’t win you can’t compete in the eChampions League or FC Pro 24 World Championship. Qualifying for the eChampions League was so important, so that put a lot of pressure on me.

“Sometimes pressure is good, but sometimes it’s bad. However, if you can manage the pressure then it helps a lot.

What should fans look forward to when watching you play in the eChampions League?

“I attack a lot. Sometimes I can do better, but every player can do better at things when they’re competing. Every player has good aspects and bad aspects, but I think that my attack is really strong because I bring a lot of players with me.

“I’ve got a very fast game, so I think people will enjoy this. Some people’s games can be boring, but mine is the opposite.
