What an incredible competition the Virtual Bundesliga by WOW Grand Finals turned out to be. Fans got to see some of the best EA SPORTS FC players in Germany battle to lift this year’s trophy, but plenty of drama unfolded as well as competition favourites crashed out.
Here are the three major things we learned from the VBL Grand Finals.
Here’s Jonny!
SC Paderborn 07’s Jonny was the talk of the FC community on the weekend after he had an incredible run in the VBL Grand Finals.
Not only did he win 14 of his 16 matches en route to lifting this year’s trophy, but he also scored an incredible 50 goals to help him get there, with his most impressive achievement being his 8-1 aggregate win over Levyfinn in the finals.
With this win, he’s gained entry to the eChampions League Finals and FC Pro World Championships, where he’ll be able to showcase his potent offence against other elite FC players later this summer.
eChampions League heartbreak
RBLZGaming player Verjgang was a huge favourite going into the VBL Grand Finals, especially after some of his incredible performances in the FC Pro Open.
However, when the quarter-finals came and he was matched up with his RBLZ_Gaming teammate, LevyFinn, he wasn’t able to bring out the same level of performances fans have become accustomed to.
He would go on to lose his knockout round match 3-2 on aggregate, sending him out of the competition and out of the eChampions League Finals.
Magnificent Marc
Although he only made it to the semi-finals of the VBL Grand Finals, Bayer Leverkusen’s Marc_LDW was able to impress FC fans by taking on some stellar opponents.
An impressive 8-2 victory over Lukas_official11 made sure fans were paying close attention to him when he played against Levyfinn. Despite losing out to the RBLZ_Gaming player, Marc made it incredibly close that could’ve gone either way.
Fans should expect him to build on the momentum he’s gained from the VBL Grand Finals when he plays in the eChampions League Finals in May.
Fans can catch all the action from the Pro Leagues on the EA SPORTS FC PRO YouTube and Twitch Channels.
