The EA SPORTS™ FIFA 19 Global Series* on the Road to the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 will bring the top FIFA competitors to more events than ever before with the objective of finding the undisputed FIFA 19 World Champion.
After an enthralling online qualification tournament back in October, 64 FUT Champions Verified competitors (split evenly between PlayStation®4 and Xbox One) will kick off the highly competitive three-day FUT Champions Cup November presented by PS4 in Bucharest from November 30 — December 2, 2018.
The tournament will follow the same Swiss-style format introduced last year, however, for those who are new to it, here's a quick refresher:
Matches and Tiebreakers
Each match will consist of two games between the same opponents. The winner will be determined by the aggregate score.
Throughout every stage of the tournament, including the Grand Final, if a match remains tied in aggregate score after the second game, there will be Extra Time and if needed, penalties will decide the winner.
Group Stage
Each platform's group stage will start with 32 players and it will end with 16 players qualifying for a single elimination knockout stage with placement based on their group stage performance.
Our group stage will be based on a Swiss-system tournament.
What this means is:
Knockout Stage
Each platform's final 16 competitors will battled down to just 1.
The 16 advancing competitors from each platform will be seeded into a single elimination bracket based on their record in the Group Stage. At the conclusion of the knockout stage, each platform will have one competitor remaining, and the console winners will face off against each other in the cross-platform final.
Cross-Platform Final
The final stage of the FUT Champions Cup November presented by PS4 is the cross-platform final, a two-game match between the winners of the PlayStation 4 division and the Xbox One division. One game is played on each console and the player with the highest aggregate score after the two games will win the FUT Champions Cup Bucharest, and the US $50,000 prize.
Event Point Allocation
Depending on their placement in the tournament, players will earn Global Series Points which will help them climb the FIFA 19 Global Series Rankings. The top sixteen competitors on each platform's rankings at the end of the competitive season will earn a spot to the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019.
The point allocation for each platform the FUT Champions Cup November presented by PS4 will be:
