EA SPORTS FIFA Disciplinary Update

January 11, 2019

Following actions are being taken against players competing in the EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series for violations of the EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series Official Rules and Code of Conduct.

FIFA Is Too EZ

Penalty

  • Two qualifier suspension

Events Missed

  • January 12th-13th, 2019 online qualifier for Licensed Qualifying Event March
  • February 16th-17th, 2019 online qualifier for FUT Champions Cup April

Suspended in response to content streamed on December 30th, 2018 and messages sent to an opponent during the FUT Champions Cup February online qualifier.

Specifically, the EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series Code of Conduct violation for which the player is being suspended is:

  • “Harassing, threatening, bullying, repeatedly sending unwanted messages or making personal attacks or statements about race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc.”
  • “Publish, post, upload or distribute any content, such as a topic, name, screen name, avatar, persona, or other material or information, that EA (acting reasonably and objectively) determines is inappropriate, abusive, hateful, harassing, profane, defamatory, threatening, hateful, obscene, sexually explicit, infringing, privacy-invasive, vulgar, offensive, indecent or unlawful.”

  • “Harassing, threatening, bullying, repeatedly sending unwanted messages or making personal attacks or statements about race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc.”

Suspended in response to messages sent to an opponent during the FUT Champions Cup February qualifier on December 29th, 2018.

Specifically, the EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series Code of Conduct violation for which the player is being suspended is:

  • “Harassing, threatening, bullying, repeatedly sending unwanted messages or making personal attacks or statements about race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc.”

Events Missed

  • All remaining qualifiers and live events of the EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series

Suspended in response to attempts to circumvent rulings based on a previous suspension.

Specifically, the EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series Official Rule violations for which the player is being suspended is:

  • “Players may register and attempt to compete in Online Qualification Tournaments on a Supported Platform using a single PSN account on the PlayStation 4 and a single Xbox account on the Xbox One. The PSN account and Xbox account for their respective platforms may share a single EA account.”

Players must conduct themselves in a reasonable manner, maintaining an appropriate and respectful demeanor to spectators, members of the press, tournament administrators, and to other Players. These requirements apply to both offline and online interactions, including social media conduct and activity on live streams. All Players are expected to adhere to these standards of sportsmanship, including when not participating in EA-sponsored events.
