It may only be the first week of the Russian Premier League season, but there has already been plenty of drama. After tying the match in the 90th minute, Lokomotiv Moskva’s Guilherme helped prevent Anzhi Makhachkala from re-taking the lead and stealing three points at home. The hosts were awarded a penalty in stoppage time but the Brazilian keeper managed to make the save on Samuel Eto’o's attempt.
The log-jam in the Eastern Conference of MLS continues with only three points separating first place from fourth. The New York Red Bulls are in the thick of it after easily defeating Montreal 4:0 at home. Former French international superstar Thierry Henry was a key reason for the win, notching a goal in the 16th minute and helping to set-up two others.
Talk about Brazilian drama. In Rio de Janeiro, current champions Fluminense lost a hard-fought match against Internacional 2:3. Diego Forlán was the key factor in the win for the club from Porto Alegre, helping to set-up the match’s first goal, as well as putting two in the back of the net in the first half.
