The Cowboys might not be the dynamic passing attack they once were, but their ground game is one of the best. Dallas offers some prolific playmakers for exciting Madden gameplay.
It all starts at the O-line. Three of the team’s top four players are offensive lineman. Zack Martin, Travis Frederick, and Tyron Smith are the power behind Madden’s top O-line. They create running lanes with ease and allow plenty of time for routes to develop.
Ezekiel Elliott is not only one of the best HBs in the game, but is also the biggest benefactor of the Cowboy’s O-line. Not only should you pound the rock with Zeke, but his presence makes it more likely for the defense to bite on play action. Getting Zeke moving is your top priority.
In terms of Madden ratings, think of Dak Prescott as a slower, but more accurate, Marcus Mariota. Short to mid-range is where he is more effective. Get the defense focused on stopping the run, and Dak can really shine.
Sean Lee is the best player the Dallas D has to offer. Lee isn’t just a non-stop tackle machine, he’s one of the few LBs that can cover some of the more beastly TEs. He can also catch, making him stellar against slant routes. Show blitz and keep him in coverage for big INT potential.
DeMarcus Lawrence surged through the Madden ratings last season, starting with a 79 OVR. Entering this year in the 90s, Lawrence is by far Dallas’ best rusher. His high Power and Finesse Moves can flatten under-powered offensive lineman. Find the weak spot on the O-line, and watch Lawrence go to work.
There’s a steep drop in the defensive talent pool after Lee and Lawrence. Mix up your play calls, use Lee to remove the middle of the playing field, and try to force a bad throw.
