Madden NFL 23 Mobile Gridiron Notes: Programs & Field Pass

Madden NFL 23 Mobile Updates

Hello, Madden NFL Mobile Fans!

First and foremost, thank you all for playing Madden NFL 22 Mobile! We feel the excitement from you each year and we know how passionate you are about the game.

In this edition of Gridiron Notes, we are going to discuss how Programs and Field Passes will work in Madden NFL 23 Mobile. On 8/10/22, Content Designer Ash joined the Madden Mobile Segment and discussed how users can expect to engage with Programs, specifically, the first one of the season, and Field Passes throughout Madden NFL 23 Mobile.

The conversation began with Ash discussing his time on Madden NFL 22 Mobile, some of the Programs and Field Passes he helped design and implement. He then wanted to first explain how Programs in Madden NFL 23 Mobile are expected to function.

Ash started out by mentioning there are a lot of similarities from programs in previous years as there are in Madden NFL 23 Mobile Programs. Programs will still launch at 10:30 AM ET, they still will have some sort of Escalations throughout the duration, and they will still have Store/Trade end dates. The core and fundamental structures remain in Madden NFL 23 Mobile. One thing Ash mentioned coming back much more frequently are player trades. Returning in Madden NFL 23 Mobile (as we found out on the OVR stream with Aaron), player trades will once again be a huge part in progressing in programs. Earning Uncommon and Rare players to then trade them in for Epics, which will then be traded in for Iconics, is expected to be the primary way to make progress in Madden NFL 23 Mobile programs, just like it was in previous years.

Now that the basics of Programs were discussed, Ash wanted to provide some in-game context, so he revealed the FIRST program of Madden NFL 23 Mobile, Headliners! This program will be in the game AT LAUNCH and feature playing events and completing trades for a number of new players at a variety of Rarities and OVRs.

Ash wouldn’t give any details on length or escalations to start, but we did go right into event structure and requirements. As we saw in a few promos featured in Madden NFL 22 Mobile, Headliners features OVR Caps on events. There are 3 total stages, each with 10 events, totaling to 30 events. The first event begins at 1,896 OVR on stage one, and the final event ends at 4,455 OVR on stage three. The rewards and quantity of rewards change as users progress through the chain and increase their team OVR. Each event between can be played between 10 and 50 times, depending on the event. First-win rewards are only offered on the first play of each event. Users will want to spend all their stamina on the highest events they can play for the most rewards. What can those rewards be turned in for? Ash wouldn’t give a full list of players and OVRs, however he did mention a couple names like Micah Parsons and Russell Wilson.

Ash then went over some other basic promo details, such as the store and calendar. The promo calendar returns with Headliners and will offer a pack that contains some rewards needed to progress through the promo. He also mentioned the last reward on the calendar is the best one. He then talked about the store and some of the great work Julien and the art team did to enhance and revitalize promo packs. He wouldn’t say if there were any special offers coming throughout the promo. Finally, he wanted to mention a lot of this is still subject to change, as content can be edited right up until launch. Anything discussed today could be different on August 18th, 2022.

With the promo discussion wrapped up, Ash wanted to give some brief details about the Field Pass. He couldn’t talk about a TON of it yet because it is still a few weeks away, but he did offer some cool insights into what we can expect.

Ash led off the Field Pass discussion with a big detail. In Madden NFL 23 Mobile, the Field Pass will incorporate gameplay from the core game more than ever before. Playing Arena, League vs. League and other modes will directly correlate to how much progress you’re making towards earning milestones. These will be month-long in design and will take users weeks to complete in order to provide consistent progress throughout the month. Completing Daily Goals and spending stamina everyday will also be a part of Field Pass progression.

Ash also mentioned you will be using trades to upgrade the rewards you are getting throughout the month. If you earn and Uncommon or Rare player from the Field Pass, you are going to trade it in for the possible Epic and Iconic players also featured in the Field Pass. Every milestone reward matters!

Similar to previous versions of Field Passes in Madden NFL Mobile, there will a Journey attached to that users can play throughout the month at no cost. These journeys will be OVR based, and users can check back in as they increase their team OVR to make more progress and earn all of the rewards it has to offer. Field Passes will also still contain a VIP and Standard version for those who want to purchase for the VIP rewards (will earn standard rewards simultaneously) and for those who do not and would just like to earn the standard rewards.

That was unfortunately all Ash was at liberty to say with how much time is still between now and it’s release, but he looks forward to sharing more details as we get closer to it’s launch in early September.
