Madden NFL Mobile - Madden 101: Player EVO

Ever been excited for a new promo, only to pull a duplicate player you don't need? In past seasons, that might have felt like a wasted pull. But this year, a new system is shaking things up in a big way.

Madden NFL 26 Mobile's Player EVO is a powerful way to make your favorite players even better. It’s a new mechanic that allows you to evolve your players by “feeding” them other player cards, increasing their Overall Rating (OVR) and stats to keep them competitive all season long. 

Instead of constantly searching for new, higher-rated cards, you can hold onto the players you love and make them stronger.

In the latest of our Madden 101 series of informative breakdowns on new and returning features in Madden NFL 26 Mobile, we’re taking a seat and putting Player EVO under the microscope, to see just what makes this new feature tick!

How Player EVO Works

To evolve a player, you'll "feed" them other player cards. The cards you use for this process are used up after you do so, so you'll want to choose wisely. As you evolve a player, their OVR and stats increase, helping them keep up with the new, higher-rated players that are released throughout the season.

This means all the time and effort you've put into customizing them isn't lost.

For example, say you've got a great Base Iconic WR, but you just pulled another Punter from the latest promo. It’s a position you don't need, but instead of being frustrated, you can use that new Punter to evolve your WR. 

This system has no limits on how often you can evolve a player, so long as you have the EVO Tokens and a higher OVR player to use. 

This means you could potentially keep your favorite players relevant all season long, upgrading them with each new promo. 

How to Evolve Your Players

The process to EVO a player is straightforward:

1. Navigate to your Items or My Team screen.
2. Select the player card you wish to evolve.
3. Click the "Evolve" button, located beneath the player card.
4. Choose the player you want to use in the EVO process.
5. Click the highlighted "Evolve" button to complete the process.

It's important to note that only Madden NFL 26 Mobile player cards can be evolved; cards from Madden NFL 25 Mobile are not eligible.

The Cost and Requirements of Evolution

To evolve a player, you will need two key things:

1. A Player Card for EVO: The player card you use for evolution must have a higher base OVR than the player you are evolving. 

It's also crucial that this "fodder" player is of the same tier/rarity (e.g., Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Iconic). The position of this player does not matter.

1. EVO Tokens: You will also need a certain number of EVO Tokens, with the amount depending on the player card's tier:
   • Uncommon: 2 EVO Tokens
   • Rare: 10 EVO Tokens
   • Epic: 50 EVO Tokens
   • Iconic: 250 EVO Tokens

EVO Tokens can be acquired through various methods in game, including Field Pass Milestone rewards, Core Journey rewards during Events, and completing Daily Goals.

What Happens to Player Stats?

A common question is whether the evolved player takes on the stats of the player used to EVO them. 

The answer is no.

When you evolve a player, they keep all of their valuable traits, team chemistry bonuses, and any other special upgrades. 

While the evolved player's OVR increases to match the OVR of the player used for evolution, their individual stats are scaled and adjusted to align with a player of the same position. 

This ensures that, for example, your Halfback doesn't end up with the stats of a Center. 

You can preview the upgraded stats before completing the evolution by flipping the card over after selecting your EVO fodder.
