Under the Hood: Introducing the Heat Studio

We’re back and with some info of a more handheld persuasion for you. There’s no time like the present so let us introduce you to NFS Heat Studio*.

NFS Heat Studio is a new experience for NFS, and one that connects you directly to Heat. The best part of this? It’s available today! Keep your thumbs busy as you work on your garage ahead of the Heat launch later this year.

We suspect you’re going to ask but yes, NFS Heat Studio will be available on both iOS and Android, it’s also free. That’s the housekeeping done, let’s take a look at what it actually does.

The NFS Heat Studio is centered around creativity and exploration. Swap out car parts, design and apply your custom wrap as you set out to create your perfect ride. The best bit? Once you’ve unlocked the car in NFS Heat, simply press the studio button in the garage to import your creations.

Utilise the video and image capture tools to share your best creations with the world, bragging rights are almost certainly on the line.

Take it one step further with the AR car experience, which will allow you to drop your creations directly into the real world. The AR experience won’t be here for launch but you can expect it shortly after. Ever wanted a photo of your dream car on your driveway, now’s your chance.

As each week moves us closer to the release of NFS Heat we’ll be dropping car packs directly into NFS Heat studio. These packs (yes, they are free) will add a new selection of cars, all the way up until launch.

We’ll also be including some challenges along the way, so set notifications to go and get ready for some fun leading into launch.

Whether you’re sat on the bus in the morning, kicking back at home or sitting on the toilet reading Reddit, you’ll never be too far away from NFS Heat.

With NFS Heat Studio releasing today we wanted to give you a heads up of some known issues. Although minor we’re hopeful of getting these fixed in the coming weeks.

We can’t wait to see what you cook up, we’ll be watching.

- Ghost

Known Issues

- Rims sometimes have clipping issues with the brake disc and caliper when another part is swapped. This only happens for concave rims, but something to be aware of.

Workarounds before the fix comes: Once you've got your car how you want it, reselect the rims and tune any colors that may have been reset.

Issue has been solved

Wrap Editor

- We sometimes see some odd behaviour with decals copied over to the other side of the car, or the decals from a previous wrap being attached to a new car when first entering the wrap editor. Workarounds before the fix comes: If decals become unselectable, you can add a new one and this usually resets the decal placements. Delete the new one added if you don't want it and then you should get back selection as usual. If you see decals copied over from another wrap to a new car, just delete the old decals that were copied over and start fresh.

We're not sure, hoping it will be fixed in the next client update

180sx

- There have been cases where the studio app has crashed while first customizing the 180sx due to part updates. If that happens, just restart the app and it should be good.

YOU CAN ONLY APPLY CUSTOMIZATIONS MADE IN THIS APP IN THE GAME ONCE YOU HAVE UNLOCKED THE CORRESPONDING BASE CAR AND CAR PARTS IN THE GAME.
