Ousada, impetuosa, abrasadora e feroz, Kairi Ima não está acima de molhar as mãos de outras pessoas e quebrar a lei. Quando era criança, ela roubou um Titã. Era do pai dela: Viper. Ela queria ser igual a ele quando crescesse. Mas no dia seguinte, ele saiu em uma missão e nunca mais voltou. De certa forma, ela ainda seguiu seus passos: não era um Titã, mas a nave dela oferecia uma vida decente. Entretanto, sua vida pessoal era tudo menos decente. Durante o dia, ela contrabandeava cargas preciosas e, à noite, bebia com bandidos e mercenários nos bares. Mas mesmo com suas mulheres, sua bebidas e seu amor pelos céus, ela continuou obcecada em encontrar o homem que colocou seu pai em perigo: o comandante Kuben Blisk.

Ela rastreou o Blisk, preparada para matá-lo. Mas ele falou com respeito de seu pai e a desafiou para que ela fosse melhor. Ela mesmo assim atirou nele. Mas não para matar. Saber que podia chegar até ele já bastava. Bom, isso e o convite dos Jogos Apex que ela tirou das mãos do Blisk.

Usando o núcleo de voo intacto da Northstar do Viper, ela construiu um novo jato propulsor para homenagear a memória de seu pai. E foi então que Kairi finalmente pôde voar sozinha... e em uma versão do Titã de seu pai que acabou se tornando dela.
