SEED is a new R&D organization within Electronic Arts whose purpose is to explore new technologies and the creative opportunities that they enable for our future games. Our areas of research include, but are not limited to, virtual reality, procedural content generation, deep learning, realistic characters and how we build and render completely new game worlds.

We collaborate with world class teams all across Electronic Arts such as Battlefield, Mass Effect, Need for Speed, Star Wars and Dragon Age, as well as the Frostbite Engine team and upcoming new games and IPs.

SEED is expanding its Prototype and Virtual Humans team at our Los Angeles office exploring new and exciting interactive experiences and potential new approaches to how we build & drive content. We are currently focusing on active prototype development, graphics, machine learning and actively engaging with game teams across EA.

We are looking for a Generalist Software Engineer - a forward-thinking engineer with experience working alongside designers, artists and researchers.

Ideal candidates have a passion for creatively solving problems in new and interesting ways. You're the first person to volunteer for the hardest challenges and you thrive when being challenged. But you also don't mind doing what ever it takes to reach the desired goal, even if that sometimes might require writing boilerplate code for example. You are someone who are deeply familiar with best practices, existing software, tools and never shy away from using what someone else has already done in order to reach the goal as fast as possible.

You will collaborate and work hand-in-hand with other engineers, researchers, designers and tech artists and be a key contributor in quickly creating proof-of-concept prototypes. We want passionate, creative, communicative and committed people. We also expect our team members to be involved and self-driven, and in return we provide great autonomy and true influence.
