When EA SPORTS and TRACAB first joined forces, our aim was to explore new ways to connect technology, sport, and fandom, both in our games and beyond.
Today, we’re giving an early look at EA SPORTS Project Assist, a pilot exploring new ways to visualize and experience live football using real-time match data and EA SPORTS technology.
How Project Assist works
Using TRACAB’s tracking technology and cameras, which generate millions of live match data points, Project Assist ingests that data into the Frostbite engine that powers EA SPORTS FC, transforming real match action into a dynamic, animated view of the game in near real time and creating new ways to explore, understand, and break down key moments from a match.
Following an initial demonstration at Sports Innovation 2026 in Düsseldorf, we’ve now begun pilot testing the technology in collaboration with LaLiga. This past weekend, viewers of the Real Madrid vs. Athletic Club broadcast got an early look at Project Assist in action, where the technology was presented during the broadcast as “EA SPORTS View.” We’re continuing to invite others to experiment with the technology and explore new storytelling formats.
This pilot is focused on testing what’s possible, learning from feedback, and better understanding how technologies like Project Assist could shape future football experiences. While we don’t have any product plans to share at this stage, we’re excited to continue exploring where this technology could go.
