Die Entscheidung, den Online-Service für alte EA-Spiele einzustellen, fällt uns nie leicht. Die Entwickler- und Server-Operations-Teams legen fast so viel Herzblut in diese Spiele, wie die spielenden Kunden, und es ist hart, sie in den Ruhestand zu schicken. Aber Spiele werden durch neuere Spiele ersetzt und die Spielerzahlen gehen bis zu einem Punkt zurück -, weniger als 1% aller EA-Spieler in Spitzenzeiten - an dem es nicht mehr praktikabel ist, diese Spiele weiter zu betreiben. Wir möchten, dass unsere Serverspezialisten sich darum kümmern, den anderen 99% der Spieler, die die beliebteren Spielen spielen, ein fantastisches Spielerlebnis zu bieten.

Umstellung bei virtuellen Währungen am 18. Januar 2012:
Am 18. Januar 2012 wird EA Benutzer von spielspezifischen Währungen auf eine gemeinsam in bisher vier Play4Free-Spielen genutzte Währung umstellen. Bestehende Guthaben in den bisherigen Währungen werden, ohne Verluste für den Kunden, in die neue gemeinsam genutzte Währung "Play4Free Funds" konvertiert. Die betroffenen Spiele und Währungen sind:
- Lord of Ultima - Diamanten
- Need for Speed World - Speedboost
- Battlefield Heroes - Battlefunds
- Battlefield Play4Free - Battlefunds
Vom 18. Januar 2012 an werden alle Spiele Play4Free Funds als virtuelle Währung nutzen. Mehr Informationen werden auf auf den jeweiligen Spieleseiten veröffentlicht, wenn die Umstellung näher rückt.
