Malgré son parcours, Pathfinder est un véritable symbole d'optimisme. Unité opérationnelle MRVN (Mobile Robotic Versatile eNtity, alias "Marvin") spécialisée dans la reconnaissance et la surveillance, Pathfinder a été mis en service il y a plusieurs décennies dans un entrepôt désaffecté, sans savoir qui l’avait créé ni pourquoi. Avec son matricule MRVN pour seule identité, l’androïde s’est mis en tête de retrouver son créateur. Grâce aux autres Légendes des Jeux Apex, il a découvert qu'il avait été conçu par les chercheurs les plus éminents des Terres Sauvages pour contribuer à résoudre la crise énergétique qui frappait la galaxie.

Depuis, Pathfinder a beaucoup appris lors de ses voyages (le plat qu'il cuisine le mieux est sans conteste la bouillie de Léviathan oriental), mais il a surtout découvert que certaines de ses pièces détachées avaient été utilisées pour fabriquer une autre machine : son enfant. À l'origine, Pathfinder a participé aux Jeux Apex pour faire des émules et, pourquoi pas, attirer l'attention de son créateur. Aujourd'hui, il entend surtout attirer l’attention de quiconque pourrait lui apporter des renseignements sur son enfant. C'est un combattant enthousiaste et serviable qui adore se faire de nouveaux amis (qu'il pourra ensuite massacrer).
