Escalation Mode Guide
10 octobre 2025
War doesn’t just change - it escalates.
Battlefield 6’s brand-new Multiplayer mode is built on the franchise’s signature all-out warfare experience, influenced by some of its greatest large-team format hits in Conquest and Breakthrough.
In Escalation, the number of objectives reduces as the battle progresses, shifting frontlines and key combat areas. You and your squad will be challenged and have to evolve your strategy, taking advantage of all four Core Infantry Classes and available vehicles to achieve total victory.
Whether you are a fan of Conquest who is open to trying something new, or a player who is born to make clutch plays, this is everything you need to know about Escalation:
Escalation - The Basics
The mission in Escalation is to capture and hold multiple objectives within a Combat Zone. Both teams - two sides of up to 32 players - start at their designated headquarters at opposite ends of the Combat Zone, with all objectives positioned between the two headquarters.
To capture an objective, simply stand - either on foot, or be in a vehicle - within the designated objective area until it is captured. The other team can steal any objective at any time. Both teams can also be on the objective at the same time; if this happens, progress is given to the team with the most players on the objective, and completely stalls capture progress for both teams if the same number of players from each team are on the objective.
A team makes progress towards taking territory by controlling more objectives than the other team. A territory is taken once a team’s progress meter is filled. The first team to take three territories wins the match.
Every time a territory is taken, the objective in that territory is removed from the Combat Zone, which intensifies action by consolidating the playable area. This objective is always the territory closest to the territory-earning team’s HQ, forcing combat towards the Combat Zone’s center. Ultimately, this battle for territory culminates in an all-out war, where both sides fight to control the last remaining points on the map.
Over time, more vehicles are added to the Combat Zone for both teams. This escalates the combat not just in terms of a shrinking playable area, but also the sheer firepower available for both teams.
If neither team controls more objectives, or both teams hold the same amount, a stalemate occurs after a short period of time. During a Stalemate, both teams earn progress towards their meter at the same rate. Stalemates are either broken when one team takes over more objectives or when one team’s progress meter is filled.
Both teams have an unlimited number of lives with a slight respawn delay when they are eliminated, making revives beneficial to keeping your squad present in any engagement, especially those near objectives. still necessary to ensure faster reinforcements.
Five Tips for Escalation
1. Coordinate Objective Capture On Foot, Land and Air. Like Conquest and other large modes, running onto an objective alone may not be the best strategy, especially when the opposition brings a jet to a gunfight. Work with your squad - and across it - to figure out what objectives take priority over others, using vehicles to break through hostile infantry waves or anti-vehicle munitions to blast through heavy enemy machinery.
2. Divide with the Squad and Conquer. With up to eight different four-player squads on a team, not everyone will be on the same page. Beyond your personal in-game actions, what you can control is the strategy for the squad you’re in. Communicate and agree on a common objective using pings, text and voice chat, keeping in mind what the other squads are doing by glancing over at the minimap.
3. Remember Your Training (Path… And Gadgets… and All Loadout Items). Your Primary Weapon is just one tool in your loadout. Learn about everything your class has to offer - in this Class Guide or through experience in-game - to best contribute to your squad’s success. Some quick examples include the Assault Class’ Deploy Beacon to get the squad closer to objectives, the Engineer’s Repair Tool to keep vehicles rolling or flying, the Support’s Grenade Intercept Tool to deny some explosives and disorienting impacts, and the Recon’s Motion Sensor to track enemy movements near objectives.
4. Force the Stalemate. Get comfortable with playing through a tie; it’s a powerful way to make the enemy stretch themselves thin by defending multiple objectives at once. Being creative during a stalemate, such as making a full-squad effort on neutralizing an enemy objective, can lead to that progress bar shifting back in your team’s favor.
5. Go With the Frenetic Flow. As more territories are captured and the match progresses, the playable area shrinks while vehicular reinforcements are dropped into the Combat Zone. It’s best to reconsider your current tactics to fit the size of the fight. In other words, you might want to drop the Sniper Rifle and Motion Sensor and pick up an SMG and a Repair Tool when the tanks start rolling in, although every Class can adapt to the shifting combat tide that Escalation brings.
