How to Complete Initiation Challenges in Battlefield 6
10 octobre 2025
As you play Battlefield 6 Multiplayer, you might make progress towards completing challenges without even knowing it. Initiation challenge assignments are designed to give you a well-rounded introduction to Battlefield Multiplayer, all while granting XP and customization rewards.
Here is a quick walkthrough through all six Initiation assignments:
Squadplay Challenge
1. Deploy on [10] Squadmates / Complete [5] Squad Orders - Reward: 15 Minute Career XP Booster
Deploying on Squadmates is easy; after dying in game, simply hover over an ally who isn’t in combat, then deploy back into the fight.
As for squad orders, these are issued by a player with the in-game designated squad leader role; when a squad leader pings an objective, a relevant order (such as capturing an objective) is issued. Follow these instructions five times to complete the mission.
If you are the squad leader, remember to ping manageable, yet relevant, objectives. In other words, don’t send the squad on a death mission to the other side of the Combat Zone.
2. Get [15] Squad Assists / Get [10] Squad Revives - Reward: 5,000 XP
This order teaches you that kills don’t mean everything in Battlefield (except in Team or Squad Deathmatches, of course). Working together with the squad to down an enemy is often better than being a lone, vulnerable wolf. Do this, and assists will happen naturally.
Speaking of teaming up, revives are easy; when there is a “heartbeat” icon over a downed ally, run on over and hold the designated button to begin reviving them. Remember that they can be dragged to safety (so long as you aren’t prone), and the Support class has both faster revives and an instant revive tool, the Defibrilator.
Teamplay Challenge
1. Deploy on a teammate’s Gadget or Vehicle 10 Times / Spot [25] Enemies - Reward: 15 Minute Career XP Booster
On the redeploy screen, look for vehicle icons moving around the map, or a square icon that represents a Spawn Beacon. Hover over them and select them to redeploy 10 times. This is easier to do on large team modes, such as Conquest and Escalation.
Spotting enemies can be done by pinging while looking at an enemy. Alternatively, both of the Recon’s Training Paths allow for easier spotting, either by looking at an enemy while aiming down sights or damaging them.
2. Heal Teammates with the Supply Bag (500 Total Health) / Drag and Revive [5] Teammates - Reward: 30 Minute Career XP Booster
The Support class is essential here: first, equip the Supply Bag in a loadout, then drop it near teammates taking cover from a firefight. Alternatively, a Supply Bag can be placed on a vehicle and act as mobile healing for all inside.
Dragging and reviving, while possible on all classes, is easiest in a Support role given the class’ faster drag and revive speeds. Be mindful of enemy positions when bringing an ally back to life, and you’ll be almost done with this assignment.
3. Repair Vehicles (200 Total Health) / Resupply [10] Teammates - Reward: 5,000 XP
Two different classes are required here: first, go into any large game mode (for example, Conquest or Escalation) and deploy as an Engineer. Then, use that Repair Tool and make a new friend with a vehicle: equip the tool, “fire” it close to a vehicle that is below maximum health, and you’ll eventually reach 200 health healed while gaining XP.
Resupplying teammates is done with the Support class’ Supply Bag. After completing this assignment’s second challenge set, you can easily continue playing Support in the same game and rack up the resupplies.
5,000 XP can jump you up a rank (or even a few), making this - and other assignments - worth it during the early Career Ranks.
Vehicle Challenge
1. Distance Travelled in Ground Vehicles (2,000 Total Meters) / Capture Objectives in Vehicles 2 Times - Reward: 15 Minute Career XP Booster
You don’t have to be the driver to complete this objective set, although it will help you become more familiar with driving vehicles. Simply hop in a vehicle and head towards an objective. Be on guard for heavy shells and explosives while in vehicles, using countermeasures whenever available.
This assignment is prime for “stacking,” or completing multiple challenges at the same time, especially for those challenges under other Initiation assignments. For example: look to the Large Modes Challenge assignments and see its first challenge of capturing five objectives in Conquest. The rest is self-explanatory, but for the purpose of extreme clarity: play Conquest (including Conquest Initiation, if you’re under Rank 15), get in a vehicle, and capture those objectives. Boom - progress on multiple fronts.
2. Distance Travelled as a Jet Pilot (5,000 Meters) / Distance Travelled as a Helicopter Pilot (3,500 Meters) - Reward: 5,000 XP
Unlike the above challenge, where you can be a passenger, this one requires piloting vehicles that only have one seat, specifically the jets. Jet flying isn’t too difficult, so long as you keep it at high altitude. Helicopters can be more intimidating, which is why we recommend first-time pilots turn Helicopter Control Assists on in their Settings.
For this challenge set, playing Initiation versions of modes like Conquest are best, as they offer a better chance of getting into the cockpit compared to standard Multiplayer modes.
3. Get [5] Kills in Ground Vehicles / Get [5] kills or assists in aerial vehicles - Reward: Fractured Ice Vehicle Camo
You do not need to be the driver to complete this challenge. Driving makes this challenge easier, given the amount of weapons available to drivers (including the vehicle itself). With that in mind, being a gunner - especially in the Transport Helicopter - can be less challenging than driving and trying to fire on enemies.
Any on-vehicle weapon can work towards this challenge, with guns meant for infantry (e.g. a heavy machine gun or minigun) potentially yielding the quickest success. However, should you find an enemy Infantry Fighting Vehicle as a sitting duck, destroying it with a weapon meant for heavy armor can net more than enough kills to complete this assignment.
Visiting the Loadout menu (outside of match) allows for vehicle customization, helpful for equipping the ideal weapons onto your vehicle or, once this assignment is completed, painting on your new vehicle camo.
Small Modes Challenge
1. Complete 2 Matches of Domination [2 Times] / Capture [5] Objectives in Domination - Reward: 15 Minute Career XP Booster
Newer Battlefield fans with experience in other FPS franchises may start in this assignment set first, although this is also an opportunity for veterans to experience small team tactical modes. To capture a Domination Objective, stay in the designated zone - A, B, or C - until it indicates that it is under your team’s control.
In each Domination match, be the first to capture your “spawn objective” (A or C), then move on to the B objective, which is usually in the middle of the Combat Zone. On most Combat Zones, holding the B objective and maintaining the “spawn objective” is the common plan for victory. With that in mind, coordinate with your teammates about “flipping” the overall strategy, especially if the idea is to hold A and C.
2. Complete [2] Matches in Team Deathmatch / Complete [2] Matches in Squad Deathmatch - Reward: 15 Minute Career XP Booster
Sometimes, you don’t want to play the objective. That’s what deathmatches are for. Simply play and complete two matches in Team Deathmatch, then do the same in Squad Deathmatch.
3. Complete [2] Matches in King of the Hill / Get [5] Kills when Contesting Objectives in King of the Hill - Reward: 3,500 XP
In King of the Hill, the objective moves - or “rotates” - between a set number of areas around the Combat Zone. The minimap will show the next objective ten seconds before the current objective expires; get an advanced position on this new objective to have a better opportunity at contested kills.
Alternatively, enter a zone that an enemy controls to “contest” it, then eliminate them. This is easier said than done; remember to use equipment like explosives and flash grenades to soften up or expose enemies before going for the kill.
Large Modes Challenge
1. Complete [2] Matches of Conquest / Capture [5] Objectives in Conquest - Reward: 15 Minute Career XP Booster
Especially for new Battlefield players, this assignment is the introduction to Battlefield’s standard of all-out warfare, starting with one of its most iconic modes.
Conquest zones take far longer to capture than Domination zones. Coordinate with your squad to identify a capturable objective, then work together to bring it under the team’s control. Objectives can be captured both on foot and in a vehicle, but beware the risk of bringing a tank in for the job: these heavier vehicles protect against light bullets, but are prime targets for explosives.
Remember your team only has a certain number of reinforcements before the game is over, so it may not be wise to “be a hero” and try to capture the Conquest zone nearest to enemy headquarters by yourself.
2. Complete [2] Matches of Breakthrough / Capture [3] Sectors in Breakthrough - Reward: 30 Minute Hardware XP Booster
Breakthrough is an offense vs. defense mode: attackers push the frontline forward, while defenders hold the line. To secure a sector, attackers must hold all control points within it at the same time.
Although there are many paths to victory when capturing sectors, here is a simple strategy for breaking through sectors on offense: first, notice where the defending team has a stronger presence between the two objectives. Then, coordinate capturing efforts towards the weaker objective. With one objective down, it should be a more simple, all-out fight for the second one before the sector is captured.
3. Complete [2] Matches of Rush / Arm or Disarm [5] Objectives in Rush - Reward: 5,000 XP
Completing the All-Out Warfare trifecta is Rush, where arming and disarming M-COMs is the name of the game.
Look at the minimap, larger map or in-game to find icons of the M-COMs. On offense, rush towards MCOMs, bouncing between cover positions and planting only when it is relatively safe to do so, as you’ll be limited on lives like in Breakthrough. On defense, look for flashing icons and listen for an alarm sound to find where they can be defused.
Again, vehicles can be a great asset for getting between objectives quickly, but just know they often become large targets for explosive munitions.
4. Complete [2] Matches of Escalation / Get [10] Kills in Enemy Objectives in Escalation - Reward: Timber Byte Weapon Camo
The newcomer to the large mode offering, Escalation pits two teams in a deadlock for control points until a climatic showdown for victory. For this assignment, aggressive play on enemy objectives is your ticket to a slick new weapon camo.
Staying in an Escalation match until the end not only helps with completing the first challenge of this set, but also with the second. Towards an Escalation match’s end, the action is consolidated to a single control point; this is where a well placed jet, tank or a well-timed close-quarters rush through the objective can result in an easy Marauder Accolade.
Your Next Challenge? Dailies, Weeklies and Playing Your Way.
At launch, you can expect Daily and Weekly Challenges to provide additional XP earning opportunities. These are challenges that are a bit shorter in length and cover a wide range of in-game actions, such as winning a match in a specific mode or earning a number of kills with a particular weapon class. Consider this a quick checklist to keep an eye on every day and week you play the game, as some of these challenges may align with other assignments and allow you to “stack” progress towards multiple rewards.
For example, if a Daily Challenge is to win a game of Conquest and you have yet to go through the Large Modes Challenge Assignment, then you probably should head into Conquest, as you’ll work towards completing the Daily Challenge and the Large Modes Challenge Assignment at the same time.
In addition to the Initiation challenges assignments, as well as the daily and weekly challenges, there are dozens of persistent challenge assignments to complete in Battlefield 6 Multiplayer, with more challenges to be added in the future.
Over time, you will chip away at progress for Unit assignments, which are focused on specific modes or playstyle expertise and reward you with Character Skins.
During the Career Rank progression journey, you can unlock two more challenge assignment sets that reward more functional hardware. Rank 20 unlocks Class Challenges themed around the four roles; find your favorite role (or complete all four) to receive additional gadgets and a secondary Training Path for that role, as well as themed customization rewards. Rank 23 unlocks Weapon Challenges for each weapon category; complete these to unlock the rest of the weapons outside of hardware earned through the Career Ranks.
And don’t forget those Campaign Challenges, unless you want to miss out on a free Weapon Package, four character skins, a gold Dog Tag and more.
