December 15
FC Pro Open - Match Week 4 Preview

Group D takes centre stage on Monday December 18 as the FC Pro Open reaches the halfway point. All four groups will have played their first round of matches by the end of the night before the festive break pauses FC Pro Open action until January 8.

Match Week 4 is set to be an intriguing one, with Tekkz in form as the best performer from the Global Qualifier, while FIFAe eWorld Cup 2023 semi-finalist Obrun returns to add to a competitive group that includes Levi de Weerd, Fouma, and The1OS.

Play is set to begin from 18.10 GMT, and you can watch all five rounds on our Twitch and YouTube platforms where viewership rewards can be earned.

Here are the players and matches to watch out for in Match Week 4.

2023-12-04 - FC Pro Open Match Day 2 -42

Players to watch at the FC Pro Open - Match Week 4

Tekkz

Tekkz comes into the FC Pro Open as the best player from qualifying. A perfect seven wins and no losses saw him cruise through the Global Qualifier, with standout wins coming against Bonanno and Levi de Weerd. Only FacuCowen managed to match Tekkz’s 7-0 record, but it was the English pro who enjoyed the better goal difference between the two.

FC Pro Live item Kalvin Phillips will be represented by Tekkz at the FC Pro Open, and given his form, it would be unsurprising to see him register the 10 points required to pick up two IF upgrades as well as a new playstyle and playing position.

Levi de Weerd

Team Gullit Pro Levi de Weerd enjoyed a number of bright performances in the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, and he stood out for his meticulous and intelligent play.

No player conceded fewer goals than the Dutchman in the Swiss Stage, with de Weerd building on form that saw him win the EA Sports Cup back in January before going on to put in strong performances across the summer in the FIFAe Club World Cup and FIFAe Nations Cup.

FC Pro Live Ivan Cavaleiro will be represented by him at the FC Pro Open, providing an item for players to invest in at a low price that could end the day as an 87 OVR if Levi earns 10 points.

Obrun

There have been mixed results from the automatic qualifiers at the FC Pro Open, and that makes FIFAe World Cup 2023 semi finalist Obrun one to watch.

The two finalists in Mark11 and ManuBachoore struggled in their debuts in Match Week 1 and Match Week 2, but Obrun will be hopeful of emulating fellow world championship semi-finalist PHzin by making a swift start in the group stage.

FC Pro Live Isak Hien will receive upgrades from Obrun at the FC Pro Open, and that item represents an interesting current meta option as a centre-back with the perfect low/high work rates, as well as notable base ratings of 82 pace, 85 defending, and 87 physical.

Three matches to watch at the FC Pro Open - Match Week 4

Tekkz vs Levi de Weerd (Round 1 - 18.10 GMT) - Group D kicks off with what could be one of the best games of the night as Manchester City’s Tekkz takes on Team Gullit’s Levi de Weerd.

This match-up is set to be a rematch from the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier after the pair met in the Swiss Stage, and it was Tekkz who got the better of the Netherlands international that time with a narrow 2-1 victory.

Whoever wins this one will put themselves in an excellent position to qualify, in a clash between two of the group favourites.

Fouma vs The1OS (Round 3 - 19.30 GMT) - Lorient esports star Fouma is one of the best players from France and the reigning eLigue 1 champion. He comes up against one of the Saudi Arabian stars at the FC Pro Open in The1OS during round 3, in a match between two stars that will be vital amid a group of experienced players.

The 1OS was one of the surprise performers at the Global Qualifer as he enjoyed a 4-1 Swiss stage record before making it out of the knockout rounds, where his only defeat was the 4-3 loss to one of the standouts from Match Week 3 in AbuMakkah. A player that shouldn’t be underestimated despite being one of the lesser-known players in Group D.

Obrun vs Tekkz (Round 5 - 20.50 GMT) - Be sure to stick around until the end of the broadcast to catch FIFAe World Cup 2023 semi-finalist Obrun up against Tekkz.

Obrun enjoyed a number of deep runs in tournaments on the last title, though two of his most memorable were during the eChampions League in which he defeated Vejrgang in the knockout rounds before losing to the Danish star in a finals stage rematch.

The Italian has proven his calibre to go up against the highest-rated pros in the game, and that makes him a difficult round 5 clash for Tekkz, who will be aiming to top the group by the end of the night.
