If you're jumping into Madden 24 Ultimate team this season, I have some of the best tips to help you be successful this season sponsored by the EA Creator Network. Whether you're brand new to Ultimate team or you've been playing year after year, I think one of the most important things you can do is jump in a solo challenge just to start building your team.

Complete Solo challenges to earn rewards

There are so many cards for you to earn early on right now in the game. You see the headliners, you see the ultimate pre-season. You can essentially go through each of these and unlock some coins and cars for yourself. Now when you're doing these challenges, keep in mind that there are different star ratings to these and you want to make sure that you're completing as much of them as you possibly can. When you go into your difficult, you can try it out an easy if you want, but I recommend going in on the hard difficulty because usually they're not too difficult.

This one, for example, is on pro. It's not competitive and you're playing against the bears shouldn't be too difficult. At the top, you're going to see you have requirements, so your requirements here, for example, on this one likely to rise are score a touchdown and gain 20 plus yards in four plays and don't get sacked. And then as you work your way through all of these different star challenges and you get these five stars for each one, you'll get some milestones. At 20, you get some XP for the liner field pass, which to talk about in a second, tier two, tier three, tier four as you can see. Now at tier four you get an O B J upgrade token, which is going to be for the Odell Beckham Jr card. And then as you work your way through, you're seeing you get more tokens and more xp, more challenges will come out and as those challenges come out, you just want to make sure you complete 'em as quickly as possible.

Now the reason why I'm telling you to do your solo challenges first is because you want to make sure that you do those to figure out what free cards you're ultimately able to get complete as many as possible, get all the good cards you can and then look at your packs. I can stress enough. The important part here is to do as many solo challenges as humanly possible to start and then open your packs and I'm going to give you an important reason why. Whether you pre-order the game or you just unlock the bunch of packs throughout the game, you're going to have some different fantasy packs that you can ultimately score as you play the game. You're going to earn more packs and you're going to get fantasy packs and different types of things. But if you get the free cards first and figure out what cards you like of those free cards that is monumental for you.

Let's say you open up one of your fantasy packs and you find out that you've got a good quarterback and you're like, that's really cool, but then you find out in the free challenges that there was already a good quarterback you could have had that you liked just as much because you've now taken a player in a fantasy pack that was a quarterback. You've essentially wasted what could have been a wide receiver, a running back, a tight end, maybe a defensive player for you instead. So by doing the challenges first, getting all the free cards you possibly can and realizing what your team looks like now you can focus your fantasy packs and additional packs to give you some level of choice on making sure you have players that aren't in positions you already have. And here's an example of a loyalty reward fantasy pack that you might possibly get if you've done your free challenges, you might realize, okay, I maybe need a running back or I need a corner, or maybe I need a quarterback or whatever that essentially may be Here, for example, I'm going to use a middle linebacker.

I don't really have a good right now, but you want to make sure you're not duplicating your efforts because if you have a position already and you're drafting it, that's kind of defeating the purpose for you.

Check out the field pass tab

Now as you're playing through all these challenges and maybe you're playing head to head or you're playing against friends, whatever that may essentially be, you want to go over to the live events tab and you want to look at the left trigger or L two. If you're on PlayStation and if you go to season one, you can then hit Y or try and go to look at your field pass. So the coolest thing about the Field Pass is it's going to show you immediately what rewards you have available to you as you hit each level. You can see you get 10,000 coins when you hit level three, which is honestly pretty nice if you asked me, there's a D'Andre Swift that's bound to your account at level four.

You can work your way all the way through and if you happen to get all the way to level 61, there is a triumphal lead pack and you can see your boy Patrick Mahomes right there on the front end. Now we obviously don't know exactly what will be in there, but if you see Mahomes on it, you know it's probably going to be pretty good with this next era Field Pass, you're seeing that there are stats. You can essentially achieve 700 plus touchdowns in any mode, 5,000 points, the list goes on. This works across all the Volta team, which is really cool. There are also daily challenges in Ultimate Team, which I highly recommend you do. They give you a timer, let you know how much time you have exactly left record, a hundred Rushy Yards record, 10 tackles record, 200 Rushing Yards. They are small amounts of xp, but I promise you they add up and they are absolutely worth doing every single day.

And if you go back to again looking at the season one piece, they have ultimate pre-season, they have team captains, they have headliners. We're going to look at headliners for example, here and doing the same thing. If we hit Y or Triangle, we can view the field Pass specifically related to headliners. Now, just like the overall field

Pass, headliners has its own rewards in its own right, so you're going to see there's different levels of XP that you might potentially get. There's coins associated with it. There are things that are specific again to the headliners pack that really make it worth your time. If you go all the way to level 19 in headliners is a nice 84 overall headliners hero fantasy pack. We talked about fantasy packs. Remember, this is why you do your free cards first so you can see that whatever you're picking in your fantasy pack is actually position of need.

And then they have objective as well that are broken down, 120 plus stars in liner challenges 4,000, pass the yards with any headliners player in your lineup. Again, these are things that you want to make sure you're doing because as you do them, you get more XP that it lets you get more things from your field pass and continue to upgrade your team.

Get coins in the Auction house

One of the other important things I highly recommend doing is checking out the auction house and taking players that you've earned that maybe you don't need, you don't love anymore, or you're seeing that they're selling for a really high amount and get rid of 'em, get those coins. And when you pull up the auction house, it pretty much gives you just a list of random players in the beginning. They typically aren't very highly rated. Let's say you happen to pull an 80 overall elite Matthew Stafford card.

You're like, this is a cool card, but I don't actually need him. Maybe you have a better quarterback on your roster already. As you can tell here, I filter by type and win QB quality. I win Elite and team. I went by the Rams to make sure that I could find the Matthew Stafford card and I'm seeing that he's selling for about 12,000 coins currently. I could put him just a little bit shy of 11 or 12,000 and make sure that he goes pretty quickly. List him for an hour or so. I could put him maybe for 12,000, put him up for eight hours and see if he goes a little bit later in the day. If I don't need the coins exactly right now, this is something you should be doing if you either put them in a set, if you have a set that you're working towards or if you just see then maybe I need the coins right now, you can focus on this.

You can also look at the auction house from a different perspective. So right now we have it listed as ascending, but if you change it to descending with RT or with R two, if you're on PlayStation, you can see what some of the higher end players are going for and maybe you pull yourself a Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen and you're realizing, I love this quarterback. This quarterback would be great in my team, but everybody wants this quarterback. And you could find people that have a crazy amount of coins. Can he pick at 87 overall win for 215 K? But if you could sell a Patrick Mahomes or a Josh Allen for 300, 400,000 coins and you think you can get by without 'em, I recommend doing it. Get those coins early on when you can. If you pull a player that is important at that exact moment in Ultimate team, it's worth getting rid of 'em if you don't need 'em.

Go through the Sets

Not enough people pay attention to the sets, in my opinion. And the sets are where you can absolutely find some fantastic players for your team. If you look at the headliner set for example, we can see that there's an 87 overall Kamren Curl. We can look at Kamren Curl and we can directly see what we need basically to get him unlocked. So for him, used to exchange five of any 84 to 85 overall players to receive one 87 overall Kamren Curl. This shows you exactly what those players are. If you had these already in your inventory, you'd be able to add them directly to it. And if you want to go ahead and click on any of these, you can actually see what those players are going for or find them in the auction house and then go ahead and pull them maybe if you have enough coins to get in your team to fill out this set.

What's also super easy is that if you have the cards for set and you know that you've already been working towards rather than going in and have to manually add 'em, you can just hit X or square to go ahead and redeem it. And when you're redeeming it, what I love is that it actually tells you what items are in there. Just as a reminder, it also tells you what other sets are affected so that way you're not actually getting rid of something that maybe impacts a set that you really care about but you just maybe forgot about as well. And then once you redeem it, it's as simple as that. It'll pop up on the screen. You can go ahead and open the pack directly from that screen, making it super easy for you. This is just one of the basic ones you get pretty much right to launch.

We got ourselves a 72 overall Cooper Kupp and then we got ourselves a Dexter Lawrence as well. But do your due diligence and go through the sets and see what players are available there. They're nice little upgrades you can do to get higher ranked players. 84 overall players that I think will be super impactful. Early on, there are sets to go ahead and recycle some of your smaller players to be a little bit greater from a goal perspective. These will help you build up to the cards you need to ultimately complete some of these higher end sets that really impacts your team and give you some of the best players in the game early on. Also, team is really about fun. The thing I recommend doing is as you're doing these solo challenges, go in and play some head-to-head games. There's also house rules that are special events that have unique rule sets. There are some fantastic versions of that that they have dropping each and every year. Play these tryout, muff, draft, try out playing a friend, get in there and practice as well with different playbooks and make sure you have the right playbook that really fits your play style. If you do all of that, you'll be able to get the coins you want, the cards you want, and hopefully have the fun you want. Be safe, be smart, tell somebody you love them. Catch your guys on the next one.
