The hustle and bustle of New York City and loft living has hit SimTown! Luxury lofts are truly the epitome of New York living, an aesthetic that is part industrial, part textured, but all chic. Every inch of these interiors is iconic - from statement lounges to pendant lighting with iron chains giving them that industrial touch. In the latest update of The Sims Freeplay, create unforgettable memories with your Sims in their New York-inspired bedroom, kitchen, laundry, bathroom, living spaces - everything loft living dreams are made of. Enjoy the SimChase and Influence Island events that deliver fabulous industrial décor and much more!

Quality of Life Improvements

Before we get into the event details, we’ve made a few improvements that we’d like to mention! If you're a Simmer that loves to build gorgeous multi-story mansions with incredible architectural designs, then you’ll love the tweak our engineers have made to allow super tall objects to be placed inside! To give you even more flexibility in Build Mode, you can now place trees, plants, double-height pillars and even a basketball court inside, in mezzanines and on balconies.

We’ve also made changes to the visibility of a number of, ‘Home Store’ categories! For new players you'll now have a glimpse into your FreePlay future with the ‘Patios’, ‘Toddlers’ and ‘Infants’ categories visible for the first time in the Home Store. If you haven’t unlocked them, they’ll be locked/greyed out, but with clear instructions on the requirements and path you’ll need to take to access them! We’re working on showcasing even more categories in our upcoming dates to make ensure all players can see the awesome content The Sims FreePlay has to offer!

And finally, wall lamps can now be placed on walls that regular ground objects already inhabit, regardless of overlap. Basically, wall lamps will now have the same placement functionality as paintings, however wall lamps will still have green placement build tiles for other objects to be placed in front of them or super close beside them!

Influence Island Season 7: New York Bedroom

Launching our update is Influence Island Season 7! Take a break on our remote beach, soak up the sun, and while you’re there, why not try and convince the other Sims to join your clan? You have 10 days to convert seven Sims to ‘Clan Mates’ to win the Grand Prize. From glamorous to understated, earn urban industrial décor to transform your Sims bedrooms into something chic, inspired by The Big Apple.

‘Lofty Lifestyle’ Live Event

Starting April 5, complete the ‘Lofty Lifestyle’ Live Event within the time limit so you can live it up in a multistorey contemporary industrial warehouse! The grand prize house lot has been transformed into a sophisticated, spacious loft with a mezzanine for stylish city living, complete with an outdoor garden and a metal bend staircase so you can access the top floor. Play some pool with friends while you kick back and relax, or even get your creative juices flowing as you sketch away on a new drafting table. You can’t miss the spectacular floor to ceiling windows, wall hanging vintage bicycle, plant walls and industrial lighting, metal shelving and exposed brickwork that all capture the distinct style of New York City!

The aim of this event is to collect enough resources from the Arts and Crafts Stations (found in the ‘Event’ tab of the Home Store or your inventory) to unlock all the items in this event, but be quick - this event is only live for 10 days.

Influence Island Season 8: Scandi 2.0

A style that was originally introduced in Influence Island Season 2 last October, we hope you enjoy a brand-new range of Scandinavian-style décor in Season 8. Starting April 13, jump into the last Influence Island and earn décor rewards that are inspired by clean, simple lines, minimalist and functionality! Your Sims will love the neutral accents that are sure to add a touch of elegance to their abode that also perfectly complements our industrial loft apartment style living.
