過去の秘密を胸に秘めたオルター。自身の次元から別の次元へと姿を表すとき、彼女が持ち得るものは次元移動を可能にするヴォイド技術、そして快楽への欲求の2つのみだ。彼女は豪華な料理を盗み、危険な状況下で戦う術を学び、人々から依頼を受けてきた。依頼人を裏切るほうが自己の利益に叶い、より楽しめるのであれば、それをも厭わない。彼女は行動の結果に対して関心を示さず、かつて存在していた道徳や責任といった概念は崩壊していった。彼女は重要なことに注力することができた。平凡な人生などないことを確かめたかったのだ。

オルターは、世界が完全なる破滅へと向かう過程に惹きつけられていった。すでに崩壊が始まっていようと、彼女が終わりを導こうとも、破滅していくその有り様を見守ってきた。結局、そのような状況下でしか人は仮面を取ることはなく、そうして初めて彼女は人々の本当の姿を見ることができたのだった。

世界が死にゆく様に立ち会うのは困難でもあった。彼女が行き着いたときにはすでに破滅を迎え、その過程を見ることが叶わないこともあった。しかし、オルターはそれらの世界の一部において、ある共通点を見出し始めていた…

それらは偶然の出来事によって終わりを迎えたわけではなかった。ある人物の手によって破滅を迎えていたのだった。
