アジャイ・シェ、通称ライフラインはApexゲームには似つかわしくない存在だ。裕福な戦争成金の子として生まれるが、親の築いた財産の血生臭さに気づいた彼女は家を出て、フロンティアの恵まれないコミュニティを支援する人道支援組織「フロンティア兵団」に加入した。それ以来、彼女は人助けに心血を注いできた。Apexゲームに参戦するのも、困っている人々のために賞金を稼ぐためだ。

Apexゲームに穢れなき参加者は存在しない…大会の本質は誰にとっても明らかだ。ライフラインにとって勝利は人道支援へと繋がるたため、この血塗られた祭典に臨む彼女には、気後れなどない。少なくとも、彼女は自分にそう言い聞かせている。無神経な皮肉屋に見えるが、心の奥底では人を助けて、世界をより良い場所にしたいと願っている。そのためには、人を始末することも厭わない。

しかし、リフトが出現し大切なヘルスドローン D.O.C.が吸い込まれてしまう。ライフラインは決死の覚悟で手を伸ばし、腕を犠牲にしながらもギリギリのところでD.O.C.を取り戻した。ライフラインは耐え難い苦しみに屈することなく、負傷した腕を機械化することで「修復」し、さらにはD.O.C.を進化させた。

誰かの面倒事に付き合わされる日々は終りを迎えた。これからはライフライン自身がD.O.C.とともに、自らの意思で混沌へと足を踏み出すのだ。
