Behind the Scenes: Battlefield 1 World Premiere

On Friday, we provided you with a first look at the dawn of all-out war at the Battlefield 1 World Premiere event. The premiere was a multi-city event, with celebrations in London, San Francisco, and Berlin – as well as via livestream for players around the world.
For the premiere of Battlefield 1, we centered the event around our players, which is why we invited Battlefield Game Changers and members of the community to be on-site with us in London as we unveiled the game for the first time.
We sat down with Battlefield Global Community Manager Dan Mitre to learn more about the Battlefield World Premiere event and the thrill of experiencing Battlefield 1 for the first time with the community.
What did it feel like to be a part of the reveal of BF1?
Dude, there are no words. This game is huge and being a part of the magic that goes into it is surreal.
What was your favorite part of the event?
Definitely hanging out with Battlefield fans. Seeing their expression the first time they saw the trailer…it might sound cliché, but it makes all the hard work worthwhile.
Can you tell us how we involved players in the event?
We invited out Battlefield Game Changers and super fans to be among the first to see the game. We had hundreds of GameChangers, loyal community members, and fans in three different locations around the world. It was so much fun having the community there and seeing their reaction first hand.
How much planning went into creating a global, multi-city event?
Man, it was crazy! Without going into too many details, I can definitely say that we spent countless hours making sure the event was as awesome as possible. We love our fans, and we wanted to make sure they had an awesome time.
What makes a Battlefield game?
It’s the epic scale and the all-out war experience. That balance between combat on the land, sea, and air helps create crazy rock/paper/scissors gameplay you just can’t get anywhere else. And destruction. Always destruction.
Why do you think players have been so loyal to the Battlefield franchise?
The team that works on Battlefield are all die-hard players, so they want to give players the best experience imaginable. You’ve gotta be a player to talk to the players!
