We’ve just had Game Week 6 of the Barclays Premier League and our EA SPORTS Team of the Week is here courtesy of the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. You can see the team below, but as always we’ve pulled out some of the top stats from the weekend:
- Captain Robin Van Persie scored his 99th and 100th goals for Arsenal as the Gunners returned to winning ways with a deserved victory over 10-man Bolton and in the process clocked up 6.33 miles during the 90 minutes. For the fifth week out of six game weeks it was midfielder Aaron Ramsey that covered the most distance than any other Arsenal with an impressive 7.49 miles – he’s working hard to prove he can fill the boots of one Cesc Fabregas.
- Stoke City earned an impressive 1-1 draw against league leaders Manchester United at the weekend. Interestingly the EA Sports player performance Index shows The Potters covered 74.99 as a team during the game; this was over 12 miles more than Man Utd managed (62.39). Stoke covered more distance than any other Premier League team during game week 6 whilst Man Utd covered the least distance, this suggests that United were more than capable of soaking up a lot of pressure against a very good Stoke side.
- An entertaining 1-1 draw saw a Richard Dunne own goal bag QPR’s first home league goal of the season and cancel out an early penalty scored by Aston Villa’s Barry Bannan. QPR’s lively side had the highest average speed out of all Premier League teams during game week 6 with an average of 4mph.
- Man City’s David Silva continued his brilliant start to the Premier League campaign contributing with another assist during the 2-0 victory over Everton and covering 7.02 miles during the game in the process. He was out-sprinted though by Everton’s Marouane Fellaini who, according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index covered 7.84 miles in the game, the highest distance travelled by any player during Game week 6.
