Sul Sul everyone!
I’m Serah, Global Community Production Manager for The Sims Maker Program. I’ve always been passionate about celebrating our incredibly talented community and finding ways to bring their creativity into the game, from lot builders to Creator Kits.
What excites me most about the program is that it opens up opportunities to get community creations into the hands of Simmers across platforms and around the world.
At the heart of the program are the Makers themselves, so I connected with Taurus and MADLEN to hear about what inspires them and what it’s been like sharing their work in The Sims 4 Marketplace.
Meet Taurus and MADLEN

Taurus, Türkiye
Hi I’m Özgür, also known as Taurus! I transformed my lifelong love for The Sims into a professional creative journey after being captivated by the game’s “beautiful chaos” since I was young. My admiration for other creators and a love of downloading custom content eventually grew into a creative practice of my own, and today, I create worn, lived-in furniture pieces that bring history, texture, and personality into a Sim’s home.
SERAH: What inspired you to start making content for The Sims?
TAURUS: Discovering custom content and mods was a total game changer; it felt like stepping into a whole new world! I started out obsessed with custom content. I was constantly in awe of how talented creators were. Every time I downloaded new content, it would spark a fresh wave of inspiration and make me want to build a whole new house or create new Sims around. Years later, after I left my job, I realized I finally had the time to try making content myself. I dove headfirst into learning Blender, Maya, Photoshop, and Substance Painter to bring my own visions to life.
SERAH: You’ve gone from discovering custom content as a player to creating it yourself and inspiring others! What has it been like to now work with The Sims team through the Maker Program?
TAURUS: The experience has been absolutely incredible. It felt like taking a huge step professionally, almost like moving up to an entirely different league. The team has been super supportive since day one. They took the time to answer any and all questions, and explain even the smallest technical details thoroughly. I’ve learned a lot from them throughout this journey!
SERAH: The team created The Sims 4 Maker Suite and Prism tools specifically to help prepare content for the Marketplace. Can you tell us a little about your experience using them?
TAURUS: It didn’t take me long to adapt at all. The tools are very user-friendly and practical, especially when it comes to adding materials and tweaking shaders. When I think of official creation tools, I usually expect something a bit outdated with complicated menus that’s hard to grasp. The Prism tools in The Sims 4 Maker Suite are more modern and straightforward than I thought they’d be! There are still some features I’d like to see added, but the team is always improving it, and I’m excited for the tools to become even more powerful.

MADLEN, Serbia
Hello! I’m MADLEN, a passionate artist with a love for painting, 3D art, and pushing creative ideas further. After discovering The Sims at a young age, my love for building dream homes and creating virtual stories grew into custom content creation during The Sims 3. Today, I love making detailed shoes and clothing, and exploring new ideas and finding fresh ways to bring style into The Sims 4.
SERAH: Can you walk us through how you approach designing your content? Which creation of yours are you most proud of, and what about it makes it special to you?
MADLEN: My process is pretty simple. I usually start with a moodboard, pull inspiration from different pieces, visualize the final look, and go from there. Sometimes I just add things as I go, depending on how everything looks in-game. It’s hard to pick a favorite because every creation is part of my journey. But if I had to choose, I’d say my very first pair, basic black pumps. That’s where everything started. I’m proud I decided to publish them because they opened a whole new world for me. Creativity, community, and so much fun.
SERAH: You mentioned that creating your first pair of black pumps opened a whole new world of creativity and opportunities for you. Looking back, how has being part of the Maker Program impacted your life outside of the game?
MADLEN: I wouldn’t say it changed my everyday life drastically, but it has definitely helped. As an artist, having another way to support myself means a lot, especially without feeling like I have to push myself too hard every month. With the current environment and new technologies, it can feel like a difficult time for artists. So I really appreciate that The Sims team wants to work with real people, support creators, and give us a platform. In that sense, it has made my life a little easier and more stable.
SERAH: Do you have any advice for creators who are looking to join the Maker Program?
MADLEN: My advice would be: don’t be afraid of the rules and requirements that come with the Maker Program. At first, it might seem a bit intimidating, but honestly, it’s not as scary as it looks. Just take it step by step, and eventually you’ll notice that everything makes sense. The process can actually help improve your workflow and make things easier in the long run. Working with The Sims team also gives you direct feedback, helps you grow as a creator, and gives your work a huge platform to reach more players.

Behind the Scenes of the Maker Program
Over the past few months, I’ve worked closely alongside our Makers, helping guide the journey of what it takes to bring a Maker Pack out into the world. Along the way, I’ve been there to support our Makers, answering questions, gathering wish lists for Stencil priorities, and capturing feedback to continue evolving our tools alongside their workflows.
You can see their care in the details. Makers carefully consider every decision: the silhouette of a hairstyle, the texture and drape of a jacket, how an object complements a space, and how each piece fits into the stories players might want to tell. Their work often reflects the fashion, culture, and trends they’re excited about and want to see represented in the game.
How Maker Packs Come to Life
In the Maker Program, ideas take their first step from concept to creation through the official Sims pipeline. It all starts with a technical evaluation, where prospective Makers submit work that demonstrates their 3D modeling skills and understanding of Create a Sim and Build/Buy criteria.
Once they get the green light, Makers unlock access to the full Maker Suite, including the official Sims tools used to create Marketplace content, plus a library of resources to help guide the way.
From there, it’s all about bringing ideas to life—designing, building, and refining until each creation is ready to find its place in The Sims 4 Marketplace for players around the world to discover and enjoy.
What Makers Have Built So Far
All of this creativity has led to some exciting milestones. In the first 90 days of the Maker Program, Makers from over 20 countries have brought you 37 Maker Packs. With content ranging from bedroom sets and dining decor, to makeup and stilettos, you have downloaded over 600,000 unique Maker Packs, directly supporting Makers and everyone who works on The Sims Maker Program.
What makes those numbers meaningful is knowing there are real people behind every pack and a player story behind every download. Each creation starts with an idea a Maker chooses to bring into the game, shaped by their perspective, style, and creativity.
To me, that’s what makes the Maker Program so special. It’s a space where that creativity is supported and shared, where Makers can bring their ideas to life and reach new players who may be discovering their work for the first time.
