Battle Of The Nations
EA Games
2010-07-22

The results are in and the final tables are posted, and at the end of the official competition our FIFA Battle of the Nations winners are Australia.
Yes, despite their national side failing to get out of a tough group in South Africa, it would seem that when it comes to FIFA Australia can be proud of its gamers who at the end of the official competition sit atop both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 leader boards. So congratulations Australian gamers you have the bragging rights as our double champions.
"It was an epic battle over the last ten weeks to see which nation would be the best at playing the wonderful World Cup online mode. For a long time it looked as though Mexico & Japan were going to triumph but late in the day it was the Aussies who came charging through and showed once again what a great sporting nation they are," said Simon Humber, producer of 2010 FIFA World Cup.
"Australia managed to win on both PlayStation 3 & XBOX 360, so congratulations go out to them from us here at EA Sports."
Battle of The Nations will be continuing so you can still represent your country if you wish, but in terms of crowning champions we needed to set a final date and, as you can see below, on that date Australia were leading both leagues.
